I have no idea yet how the phone works outdoors. Got it late this evening and it was raining and very boring weather.

Yes i used the little plane so i can compare a little, i use to shoot similar pics on the same object to make it fair. I use to do this on some other places also. I just have to wait for some sunshine

Posted by korbindallis
ahhh the mustang so beautiful..........

Posted by PaNdaPaNda
wow!
good flash!
great photo!

Posted by APR
Damn! C901 is good!

Posted by Pitzon
A little gap with sunshine today made me run around and shoot like a maniac It sure works quite well the little phone.

I think we might have an "auto-king" here because all settings i tried just made pics worse. In landscape mode the colours went way off and to much saturated somehow. The old trick with lowering Ev almost makes pics to dark. But i canīt see any reason to fiddle around with results like these.

Never thought this one should be sharp, the tiny flower where swaying in the wind like mad.

100% crop

Another macro

Posted by ardzuna
Great photos! Can you upload a couple of full size pics?

Posted by Luci'sPower
are already posted in the photo section

Posted by ardzuna
Great quality, the photos look even better in full size.
That C901 sensor is really something, much better than the one in C902.

Posted by Luhccas-U1a
Fantastic quality!
A++

Posted by pohuman
Wonderful photos.. Amazing quality.. C901 best..

Posted by plankgatan

Seems that you've been staring for too long at your over-saturated C902 photos that you are no longer able to see what is realistic...

oh...dont start it here.
lets just discuss bout c901.

Posted by >500
plank!

the c902 camera is TERRIBLE! Period!

end of!!!

not the best... THE ONLY ONE, this is the FIRST 5mp with REAL COLORS and EXCELLENT FLASH all those 5mp where trash for me, k850 was ( and still is ^^) the worst camera phone in SE history the c902 mmm a bit unreal colors and also no xenon, so i think this is, so far, a GREAT 5mp cameraphone so the top quality line for me is

3.2 mp k800
5.0 mp c901
8.1 mp c905
12 xxx

great pics pal congratulations ^^

Posted by pakhusin

The 100% crop flower!!!
no smudges, no purple fringing!

Posted by AbuBasim
And there doesn't appear to be any hints of over-sharpening either. With C901 SE finally have tweaked the camera driver for the best quality.

Maybe even good enough for Vipera ammodytes to change his K750?

or on par.

ive been buying all Cybershot flagships since birth, and suddenly (like a lightning from blue sky) i walk empty handed home from the Store.....isn't that remarkable.

i shot 9 pics yesterday with c901 (4 indoor and 5 outdoor) and only 1 outdoor became good, the rest became sort of pale (a hint, it wasn't my fault)...........so the million dollar question is....was it a "Monday example" i tried ?
the ones who became good, they became good, but the whole situation certainly made me insecure.

ps.....(for the record)...im amazed how many people who make statements without trying the product, (im not talking specific about this thread, i mean in general)

Posted by sowbran
i just dont know what believe ,excuseme but for you the c902 is the only camera phone , sorry but i think that about you in all the post always says the best for the c902

Photo quality in the lowermost C902...

Posted by chombos1
this (C901) is what i call one of the best 5MP camera phones...

finally i saw a phone from SE that can capture the right RED colors. (not like K850, C902,C903,C905,and now satio)

i think they have used a different sensor in this one (different from C902 and C903)

RED colour captured by C901, IMHO, like RED by K770/T650. cmiiw

Posted by Luhccas-U1a
C905 don't have problems with red... Even with iso 400.
And not,i'm not saying "c905 is better than".The overall quality of c901 is the #1.Real colors, fantastic details, nice exposure balance, good flash, nice macros etc etc.
When launch in south america i'll buy one.

Posted by Pitzon
Well i dont want to argue about wich is best but i try to take pics and play around with the phone and see. I let people make up their own mind from samples.

I understand Plankgatan also because the cam in this one seems very different from my earlier SE, the pics have more "punch" so to speak and i dont have to lower Ev to get them darker and "punchier" Seems to work in full auto. I also think the sharpening and postprocessing is different.

But im quite impressed by it and for being the first fw it seems to work nice. Extremely fast phone with nice buttons.

I dont think the c901 is better than c905 but i think it will meet most peoples needs for a small p&s. In good light the c902 and c901 are quite close i guess.

Macro

Bestpic, the car going around 50-60 km/h (35 mph)

Great pics Pitzon!!!

C901 indeed has the best 5MP camera in a phone...

Posted by Pitzon
Thanks

A little beetle i saw today

Posted by plankgatan
think the quality is identical to Samsung Omnia (SGH-i900), (i wouldn't be chocked to death if C901 had exactly same camera sensor as Omnia).
Omnia have also this sharp, straight contours with very clean quality and low noise (now i mean something positive)......the "cost" for this "features" is a bit lower Depth into the pictures. (if i guess, it depends of the Dynamic colour range every camera have...some have more and some less (of course)).

k800/k810, c902/W902 and C905 is some examples with good Dynamic colour range. (if we just talking SE phones).

this is how i define Depth.

and thats something i missing a bit with c901.........over and out...................

Posted by sowbran
i dont think that, i think that the sensor is more identical like the Motorola ZN5 (WITH LESS SHARPEN) just check out the pictures taken by the NZ5 and looks similar not to the samsung XD

hi,

do you guys live in the same house or share the same fridge? (just asking)

Posted by Pitzon
Nope thats my fridge, Plankgatan who posted one of my pics there just to show reds.

Posted by recl
ok, i was just curious

Posted by Luhccas-U1a
Jesus Christ... Planks still saying the same thing along years !
Since 200x his phones are the best...
C'mon dude,is time to change your speech!Recognize the superiority of C901!This don't hurt and it's a phone!

Posted by Raiderski
I did not understand what do you mean Plank. depth? is this something about colors or tonal range?

Posted by tyko
Couldn't resist, bought myself the little bugger! And i have to say the camera is top notch as far as im concerned. There may be cameraphones that catch more detail (higher megapixel) , but photos from c901 certainly is a treat to watch. I uploaded a few of my so far boring pictures due to cloudy weather. I still think c901 handles it well. The flash is as strong as k850 and of course suffers a bit with noise depending on distance to object, but thats expected. Phonewise its nothing spectacular, its a regular SE feature phone.

cloudy is even better, more tricky! sunny weather is boring, I mean pictures are nice but I would like to know in which situations camera can fail can you guys provide some pictures of city at night, without led and flash?
