It looks soooo crappy, and if Nokia can put a "high quality" display with 16 mill. colours in it and still price it for about £120, this clearly shows what kind of quality display this is, and in the rest of Nokia's low to mid-end phones with the same kind of display.
Seems they've been going materialistic on this one, and focusing on high numbers, low performance.

dont think there are differences among 16 m displays, there arent many devices with so many colours, but of course at the ned it comes to the screen res aswell...

I really cant see the point in Nokia and other manufactures making low end phones any more, the way i see it is people like us get top end phones because we wont them, the people who dont want top end phones buy what suits them, and there's the people that own a mobile phone in case of a emergency like my gran for example, why would she even think about buying a new phone like this, if her phone broke one of the family would give her a spare that they have, well thats my view anyway

Phone manufacturers are not producing for "rich countries" only, but also for developing countries, where people don't get a free phone with their contract, but have to pay for it themselves. In these countries new low-end phones are more important than high-end ones, so worldwide, cheap phones are selling in larger amounts than high-end models.

Its better than the rubbish low end SE models. And please, if you havnt seen its display in real, keep those comments buried. Compare this to the 120x160 displays in SE i think its clear which is better. And even if its display WAS crappy, what else do you expect in a 120$ phone?

if it has got even 6131 screen, thats already great news

I had the former 3120 years ago, as a gift from my friend.

"Nokia just announced the 3120 Classic, not on their press site, but on their press bulletin board. I found this to be slightly weird, but on to the news:
The 3120 Classic has a 2 inch 240×320 screen, 2 megapixel camera on the back, video camera on the front, memory card slot and will be available in graphite, plum/powder white, deep red and chestnut brown. All that for 150 euros, not too shabby. I wish I had more tech specs to share, but this is all for now, promise to update this post once I get more details.
Update: We’ve got more details. The device runs S40, comes with Opera Mini preinstalled, Bluetooth 2.0, 2.5 mm headphone jack, 16 million color screen, quad band GSM/EDGE and dual band 3G, there will be 3 versions of this phone: one with dual band 3G 850/2100, 850/1900 and finally 900/2100, 1000 mAh battery, weighs 85 grams and is 111.3 x 45.4 x 13.4 mm. Pretty amazing for 150 euros when you think about it, it is quite handsome if i do say so myself. Comes out in Q2."

does this 3120 run the feature pack 5 of series 40?
if so, its UI is no match with a200. ( let alone a100 of )
It cannot support multi tasking efficiently
i don't like design of 3120. looks like it came from Mars
But, the specs (on paper) are good. Remains to be seen if in reality it will deliver well.
i have to admit though, it has good price:feature ratio.

I think it's nice, a bit like a turbo charged Nokia 2630. Nice, slim, simple, with some interesting features to keep everyone entertained. For a new model at that price, it's not bad.

They had to ruin this phone with yet another ultra-boring design. God, compare this to the K660...

I feel out dated and old.
I still have and use an original 3120....
Moving to an N82 soon, but I just had to post cause this is odd.
Why is Nokia rehashing model numbers? I understand there may be like a total of 10 people worldwide still using the original, but it isn't exactly like there is a shortage of numbers available.....

In India 3120 classic is retailing at around 7200 bucks (166$) whereas K660i retails around for 9000 bucks (209$) ...this is a significant price difference for phones in the same category and will be a major downer for when people look at these 2 phones
And i'read in ET has lost its 2nd place to samsung ...if this is the pricing strategy they wish to continue its tough times ahead for
the same issue is on g700 retailing for 15000 bucks (348$) which according to me is too high ..almost the same price as P1i
any thoughts
