Well do you know the release date I know it's fourth quarter
Posted by wrecked_porsche
Why the heck u choose that over the t300??
Posted by ScottTUK
Because I prefer the design less features and price
Posted by wrecked_porsche
Design and price, i agree. Features? Erkk !!!
Posted by ScottTUK
Well im under 17 so I dont really need IR BT etc etc so thats another reason why I think the 3510i suits me more
Posted by Gustaf
Well you get better games with the T300. And you will bea abel to download new ones to the phone.

Posted by ScottTUK
Cant you not do that with the 3510i delete games then download new ones?
Posted by ScottTUK
And as for the joystick the Nokia 3510i has something similiar with its game fascia

colour screen?
changable themes?
background pics?
all cool things to have:P

Is it just me that think the design of the Nokia 3xxx series feels really outdated. Besides that I wouldnät like to have a phone that looks almost just the same as all Nokia 3310 that is out there....
Posted by ScottTUK
Then again you cant say the T300 is a masterpiece
Posted by ogie_gall
the t300 is ugly.
Posted by ppcrockar
IMHO the T300 is much better looking than the old Nokia 3xxx series design. The T300 looks new and fresh, the 3xxx series looks like an old 90's phone...
Posted by ScottTUK
Well the size and shape is like the 3xxx series but certainly not the fascias.

The t68/i are the best looking phones out there, never mind wot it can do,but thats another topic, innit!
Posted by Superluminova
god! you have to see the t300 in real life to see that it ain't big and ugly at all! it nice really nice! i'd choose it as the 3510i design is outdated, it looks old fashioned, plus i'd feel i was getting an old phone since the design is old?

huh? Again a comment with no ground....
Better games with T300? Can you please elaborate....
3510i has already a few Java games embedded, and of course you can download new ones!!! Go check www.nokia.com.
The 3510i design is pretty cool! It's not like a 33xx.
And 3510i has great polyphonic ringtones -unlike T300 which are definitely pathetic: check SE website...-, not Nokia proprietary by the way. There are already quite many wapsites offering free polyphonic ringtones for 3510, 7210, 7650...

@Super G
Which phone will have the best games is of course not possible to say at the moment. Mophun does have it's advantages compared to Java, but on the other hand Java is more common. I guess time will tell.. I have tried the games on the T300 and they are good, they are the best and fastest games I've seen on any mobile phone so far. Of course I haven't tried the games on the 3510i for obvious reasons. But just to make things clear the T300 also have downloadable games.
Regarding the design I think the 3510i just looks like a 3310 with a bit different keypad. And I think it looks really 90's. And in my opinion the 3310 is one of the ugliest phones on the market. The design was quite good when it first came out compared to the competitors, but today the same design looks really really dated. But that is of course my opinion, I'm just saying that today there are quite a lot of good looking phone and the 3510i doesn't belong to that category.
Hmm.. how can you comment on the ringtone quality when the 3510i isn't even released yet? I tested the T300 in a shop a few days ago, and the quality of the polyphonic ringtones on the T300 is very good. Of course I can't compare them to the Nokia 3510i because it simply is not available yet. AFAIK the T300 can use standard MIDI-files as ringtones which means that there are a lot of ringtones available....

I assume 3510i has at least the same ring tones as 7210, and of course.... 3510!
Now, the ringtones in the T300 (standard) are simply ugly. I'm not talking about the quality of the speaker, but the music. Yak. Of course you can download new ones (like for 3510), but the one provided by SE sound reallllly bad.
By the way, I tried Panasonic GD87 recently... Kind of cool phone for who likes clamshells. But the user interface is somewhat awkward and looks messy. The ringtones are nice, though sound like Japanese games. The screen is very good, the 4 way button somewhat strange, the camera quality I don't know (though the refresh rate is ok)

Super G, have U even tried the T300 to say such BAD things ?
Honestly.... ?
Posted by Super G
I've tried the T300 demo on SE website which calls itself as "Try T300". This I assume is -ringtone-wise at least- pretty much what you get in reality if not better -considering the speakers of my PC, and the compression rate of the sound file in the web page.
I haven't seen T300 in any shop yet.
And I'm not saying bad things but just what I think. At least compared to the level of some of the comments in this forum regarding SE competitors, I consider myself as quite soft

Then you should pretty much just keep quiet =)

@jb:
Why?
But you probably don't get the point anyway.

Well.. as far as ringtones go the t300 kicks all nokias ass... ass nokia phones can only play four sounds at the same time. t300 can play 16.
the t300 uses standard midi files which are easy to get hold off whereas the nokias use sp-midi which are almost impossible to get hold off. I owned a 3510 which has the same polys as the rest of the nokias and I couldn't find a single free sp-midi file(and believe me I tried).
That is.. there are 3 free ones available at club nokia.
But I didn't like them.
I just found about 100 free midi files which I can send over IR to my (coming)t300.
As for the screen... the nokia wins hands down in this arena.. having 4096 colors... but then you can't take pictures with it...
As for games.. Both can download them but the nokia has an advantage.. it has Java.. which means you can get other things than games for it.

Actually the T300 has 24 polyphonic channels, and the sound quality is amazing especially if you compare with Nokia.
And the fact that you can use standard MIDI files, makes it sooo much easier/cheaper to get new great sounding ringtones.
The 3510i does have more colors, but on the other hand it has a lower resolution on the screen. And I would have to say that the the T300 screen compares well with the Nokia 3510 despite the fact that it only uses 256 colors.

FYI, Nokia 7650 has 24 channel polyphonic and uses standard midi files. It plays .wav and other sound formats too, so not all Nokias are the same! Now, why Nokia didn't use the same kind of poly in 7210/6610/3510(i) etc... I'll never understand. 4 channels is hardly polyphonic at all! Bad Nokia. Bad.
Posted by ste_dexter
Poly tones are poly tones.
They sound pretty much the same on any phone.
Unless its 4 channel poly. Then you have to be really careful.
4 channel poly can sound good. You have to trust me on this.
I have some great tones on my 7210.
However. 16 tone poly is better. A lot better.
If i had known how much hard work it would be to make a 4 channel poly tone i would have got a different phone, not the 7210.
Not heard 24 channel poly. But i think 16 should be enough for most tones. Only prob i could see when makin 24 poly is how big the file would end up.

@ Raven
Sorry... you're of course correct. I was too lazy to write all Nokias except 7650

3510i has java and in my opinion nicer design.

I think the T300 has much nicer design. Nokia 3510i looks like the old Nokia 3xxx series and looks like old 90's design. The 3xxx design is sooo dated, big and bulky. The T300 looks much nicer and has a much "fresher" look. But that is of course my opinion.
The Mophun games on the T300 I've tested are much better than any of the Java games I've tested. I would choose Mophun over Java if it just comes to games.

Dudes.. the 3510i has a 256 color screen... so the t300 and 3510i are equall in that field...
Oh. and Ir is usefull for everyone because you can then transfer file for free to your phone(this is especially important on a nokia because nokia charges for everything).
Posted by Raven
Wrong. 3510i = 4096 colours(in theory).
Posted by Coramoor
what does in theory mean? It looked like 256 colors anyways so it doesn't really matter what it has in theory.... That said it might have been a little more vibrant than the screen on the t300,t68i
Posted by Raven
It means that it can(should) display pics up to 4096 colous, but I don't think you'll be able to actually notice much difference on the small screen.
Posted by Rav250
I think the 3510i is ok, but the design is out dated tho. But the T300 is also ok, and the desgin isn't all that.
But i never ever use either phone, so my views are only on looks. Some reason i give both phone 6.5 out of 10 on design. Can't hlp it i love my T68i design >.<
Any way i will be buying the T300 for my mother ("cough" me "cough"), and test the phone out, and i may even let my mum use it
