Hey guys, i just got a K700i and i think it's a great phone.
Now im curious. Whats the diferences between the S700i and K700i besides the hight, weight etc.
Can someone please list ALL the differences between the S700i and K700i. i used the Esato phone compare on the home page and both phones had the same things so whats the differeces?
By the way is the only difference between the S700i and S710a is that the S710a supports EDGE and thats it. Otherwise there the same phone?
Thankyou. |

There are several threads dedicated to both the K700 and the S700, which will provide you with a lot of information, such as this S700 thread; another S700 discussion thread; this K700 thread; another K700 thread and also this K700 discussion thread.
I shall list the main differences between the two handsets.
The S700 has a 1.3 MP camera, the K700 has a VGA camera (300,000 pixels). The S700 has support for memorysticks, the K700 doe snot. The S700 has a better screen than the K700. The S700 has a swivel form factor, the K700 has a candybar form factor.

No Way! I love my K700i, why would i upgrade to a S700i when the only major extra features are the 1.3 Megapixel camera and the support for memory sticks. Ofcourse it as a very high quality screen but i think the K700i's screen is very good.
There basically the same phone besides those 3 things.
By the way i did a search before but most of the topics were about buying a K700i or S700i.
The last thing i want to know is that is the K710a a K700i with EDGE support and thats it?

Sorry about that.
Is the only difference between the S700i and the S710a that the S710a supports EDGE?
By the way what is EDGE? |

Essentially the S700 and the S710 are the same thing, with the only major differences being that the S710 has support for EDGE and no FM radio.
EDGE is an upgrade for 2.5G networks, basically turning them into 2.75G networks. EDGE offers higher data speeds than GPRS, but not as fast as those offered by 3G.
EDGE has not been implemented in Western Europe and I also believe that Japan does not utilise EDGE either.

EDGE has been introduced here in india. But we have very few EDGE compatible handsets. :-(

So basically EDGE is faster than GRPS but needs to be supported by your Mobile Service provider?

As stated above edge requires a hardware modification in network's transmitters as well as phone. Due to this it transmit 3 bits of info per cycle compared to 1 bit in gprs so in theory it should be 3 times faster than gprs. |

in addition to the above differences, the s7 doesn't fall to bits or creak like the k7.the s7 is an excellent phone...the k7 really isn't very good at all.
