I haven't decided to upgrade yet since my t610 is still going strong although the key response is slow sometime. I presume this is a common problem for t610.
Read so much on k700 vs t610/t630 and was just wondering if anyone of u who upgraded, think that they shouldnt have done it in the first place. Read a post today about k700's looks vs functions on t630 by a member this morning. Noted that he is not willing to upgrade the phone to k700 cos it looks awful, though it has much more functions than his current t630.
But when the time comes for me to upgrade, I would not think twice about it. Bravo to k700.

I bought a K700 as a compact phone to accompany my P900 (basically replacing an older S55) and I haven't regretted it at all. The K700 feels solid and well built and has a great feature set. Removable storage would be nice, but I'm finding the 40MB to be ample, I use a dedicated mp3 player for my music.

You will love the K700i....

God that thing has even helped me find my keys at night!! Thanks to the little light!! haha

Seriously though... It is surprisingly small.... jam packed full of features.... and build quality is on par with the T610....

No regrets!

The only thing that made me regret my buying of my K700i then was it's 'blinking screen' at times! This was reformed had I upgraded to the R2L... firmware, but I didn't . . . My prudent decision of selling it while it's price is still at it's peak was the decision I made that I'll never regret till this very day!

I'm not to sure what to think at the moment. In the past three months i have changed from the V600 to the Nokia 6230 to the Sony Ericsson K700. Dont get me wrong - I view SEs favorably. I still think that the T68i despite the screen, is one heck of a phone.

I am not sure about the K700. I moved through different phones for different reasons. I bought the V600 for the excellent voice quality (imho). Then i moved to the Nokia because i would be commuting back and from work listening to music. Then I got an ipod and thought well i dont really need to listen to stuff from the nokia and got the K700.

I think the K700 is one heck of a phone. It looks great. Never really liked the T6xx (and i had one). The K700 just looks better. Right now I've moved back to the V600 for the following reasons:
- the sound quality in the v600 is fantastic. i found that the k700 is hollow and its not that loud in really loud places.
- key placement aint that good - i type with my thumbs and i keep on hitting keys. it makes sending a message a long tedious ordeal.
- software is slow. yes the v600 is slow too. but i've noticed that when i would be choosing an mp3 as a ring tone half the screen would disappear because the phone would be too busy loading up the mp3 to actually draw the screen.

But then again - the K700 is a very good phone. It is a heck of an improvement compared to the T6xx. the camera rocks. bluetooth implementation (well at least with mac os x) is fantastic.

/me is preparing myself to be shot

One more thing that annoys (regret) me with my K700i back then was it's poor sound when I made calls in public places . . . I can't hear the person I am talking with when I am in loud surroundings . . . my vintage Motorola V60i does the job - better!

Ah... you see guys, that's what I wanted to find out from k700 users. Not so much of its look or feature but the way it perform/deliver. U can have a very good phone but if it doesn't perform up to your expectation, you can end up like JN.

I'm glad someone else has got this problem....even when i'm sat at home i can hardly hear the person at the other end - I can only hear people when using handsfree or speaker....which get's annoying - "errr...can you hang on while i turn my speaker on...."

very annoying and the thing that is making me regret getting the 700 and telling my friends not to get it....

With all due respect.... I have never had a problem with the volume of the speaker....without using the loudspeaker... May I suggest.... that on some occasions it may need you to check your hearing?

yeah i never experienced this sort of thing

Once i did however, not exactly the problem u guys had but it happened like this - i was standing at one place and talkin to my friend. Reception was good. Then i had to move and suddenly volume became low !!! I moved back to the original place and volume was back up ! So i guess its the signal variation in diff locations. Also you guys might wanna try adjusting the volume when talking.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence of your attempt !!

i have to say, that the volume of k700i is WORSE than for example t68i - same network, same place.
sad but TRUE.
