Audible.com - for audiobooks uses the AAC+ or eAAC in m4p format (its protected). If I'm not mistaken then THIS is 1/2 reasons why the SE K850i will not play the content.

Some questions:

1 - when you use the File Manager (listed under Organizer) does it list the file as a note that you can ONLY send not play? Unrecognized formats usually mean the internal file system doesn't recognize it.

2 - If it gives you the "play" option in File Manager does it(K850i) gize you an error that you cannot play the file?

NOTE: I believe SE has setup the SE PC Suite to load Audiobooks onto the K850i internal or external memory card; check the Media Manager 1.2 that is the latest upgrade to load audiobooks into your phone via Mass Storage USB mode. Hoping this helps. OR change the format using the Media Manager.

I'm still looking at how to use audiobooks & find a format that works. I use Audible & the k850i wont recognise this format.
Anyone got a clue?

Has anybody been able to properly load audiobooks to their phone(within the audiobook category in music)? I've tried changing Id3 info, but it continually mashes the mp3 audiobooks with the rest of my music.

I've worked out the issue with Vista and internet pass-through. I will put up a proper post later when I'm home with my Vista PC.

Ok so i've managed to get it to work on XP but not with Vista. For a nice walk through for XP click here:
http://sonyericssonblog.wordp[....]our-a200-mobile-phone-via-usb/

His screenshots are pretty spot on apart from one - where I has to select a specific option in order to say that my computer "had a direct internet connection" (see his walkthrough).

As for Vista, I tried everything written here including checking HTTP Webserver in the ICS settings... Anyone got any further with Vista? Sebby?

Niiiice, "long time no seen".............
K850 could easily be the NR.1 Cybershot..........it have (nearly) all features to be the King..............

first of all i think its a damn beautiful phone.....i mean, just look at Black K850, it just super cool, one of the most beautiful creations from Sonyericsson i think.

(anyway, a bit better optimized camera and aluminium keypad and you have a damn cruel cam-phone....thats for sure )

@ Dark Knight : microSD HC is a lot faster than M2. im using a 4GB microSD HC on mine now. It's faster to copy huge files to the memory card. my friend is using 8 GB microSD HC on hers and it works well too. never thought that 8GB card will work.

@ pohuman : great info. i really thought that its a screw.hehe there's a lot of dust on my Exposure meter, light meter. what is the best way to clean it?
