all SE phones that has FM functionality uses the headphones as an antenna.
all SE phones that are not flashed/edited/re-programmed using FAR will prompt you for the headphones if you insist on using your FM without them.

but SE phones that patched using FAR manager can run FM radio without the use of headphones... but guess wot.. youll hear nothing, coz it cannot receive signal. therefore, the patch is useless..

Thanks however I did not see anything there for the P990i which I have and some of it seems real serious. I would prefer that a professional operate on my phone.
The only thing that I might want from them is to add/open up the 850mhz frequency on my phone.

What is this Guys?
You are saying We Can Do It By PATCHING. But if we cannot hear whats use of patching. BETTER SAY WE CANNOT. Just removing the command from phone to insert Headphone is not what we Want?
Anyway THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY.

You can plug in the Headset extension. Do not plug in the headpone. Start the FM Radio then switch to Speaker. That's it, you will hear the radio. It works on my W810 & W300.
Walk good,

The only other way would be to open your phone and make an aerial inside the phone. Reception would probably be rubbish.

I've got a fastport to 3.5mm adapter, with that you can get a signal but obviously still need to have something, albeit smaller, plugged in.

So guys clear it up. You can add the patch but you won't hear it or the reception won't be good? Or is it that it just won't work and isn't worht messing around with?
The good thing about this whole thing is that IF it works then one would be able to use his HBH-DS970 to listen to the radio.

BTW are there any for opening/unlocking frequencies on one's phone including the P990i?
