I just bought Sony notebook with Vista Business. I've not tried to install PC Suit yet on this laptop. I also have XP desktop with MS Office 2007 (upgraded from 2003).

I've tried to sync my M600i with MS Outlook 2007 and it didn't work. I uninstalled the PC Suit and re-installed it.....still didn't work. My M600i used to work well with Outlook 2003 though.

Any idea?

I didnt' install MS Office 2007 on my laptop yet coz I wasn't sure if M600i will work on both Vista and Office 2007 or not. some said it works, Some said it doesn't work.

Anyone can confirm that please?

perhaps the latest comment just posted a short while ago in the Sync with Outlook 2007 thread might help

I've tried this process and while I can get the application and mrouter installed , (I have UAC off). I then plug in my phone via usb, it comes up detects the phone and asks for drivers, I tried auto detecting them with no joy. I tried manually installing the drivers still no job they are not for my copy of vista.

I tried the drivers with that french package, but these also did not work.

Im running Windows Vista Ultimate x64, so Im guessing theres no drivers yet for the USB cable. So then I tried to connect via bluetooth, I plug in my bluetooth adapter, that all seams to be fine turn on discovery and so on then when it tries to pair with the phone it starts asking for drivers again and again fails.

I see jsmills had his working on Vista x64 over bluetooth, could you please advise what you did when it asked for drivers after pairing. Other than that is there some kind of ftp client or zip/rar support for the p990. I tried jzip all this does is bring up a blank screen then closes down.

Grateful thanks to all of you with the above. I have just got my GW1 P990i syncing with Outlook 2007 over Bluetooth (Dell Wireless 350 Internal).

I had to remove ALL the lines from the LaunchCondition to get this version (1.3.11) installing and there are no Vista (32bit Ultimate) drivers for a couple of the Bluetooth sub-modules - but it works now! Yay!

Now to try turning UAC back on....

Cheers,

UAC is Windows Vista User Access Control, which tries to make sure that only the programs you want to run are allowed to run. It's designed (I believe) to stop spyware and malware running itself.

The on and off switch is found at

Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control on or off

I disabled it for the installation process and the first sync, and have since re-enabled it, and my subsequent sync ran fine.

Cheers,

Dave

do you mean Vista x86 or Vista x64 ?

I am pretty sure that the phones drivers in PC suite do not work on Vista x64

Well I had pc suite installed and working then I had major probs with my pc and had to reinstall vista. Now pc suite will install (the french version), when I connect my P990i all the drivers except the usb drivers install.

I can not for the life of me get them to install and although everything else is installed fine the phone won't connect. I have looked in the device manager all drivers are there except the usb. I don't think windows is recognising the phone as there is no sign of the phone or a warning to be able to install the driver manually even when i scan for new hardware/hardware changes.

it's driving me mad !!!!!!
