What i want to know (i am planning to buy a V3i myself) is:
You were disappointed because it didn“t live up to your expectations *perhaps you assumed it would be a big step up from original V3*
Or were you disappointed because it was a bad phone?
Most people i know are disappointed in the W900 simply because they expected more (miracles i“d say) considering the massive Sakura hype and all.

yeah, perhaps I expected more. Video recording is fine but you can get that in the V3 these days so really all it had going for it was the higher res camera and the memory slot whereas I really didn't like the colour or the feel. The silver V3 feels so much better in the hand.
I guess this is more or less a repeat of my RAZR V3i first impressions
edit: btw, I also tried the V3i a second time too (I must be a fussy git!)

Yes you are..
I think i will be happy with it then as i find the gunmetal finish at least as appealing as the original silver one. What i appreciate, (i don“t give a flying *about camera and video) is the reportedly slightly better display(s) and better phonebook according to Eldar“s review.

right, I've decided to get another and this time I will keep it no matter what.
it seems when I don't have it, I miss it, so I guess that answers the question though for the life of me I don't know why!

I finally got a 8800 after being scammed on Ebay. Decided just to get it on the Flext 35 tariff, paid £150 for it cos i haggled.
Nearly lost it last night after having it for 1 day. left it on a sofa in a club, luckily i found it again. I need insurance i think.

good one.
I'm not sure what the flext 35 deal includes but the best contract price combined with best initial handset price I have seen is at dial a phone whom I have used once before for my sons K750. They give the cashback within a week of claiming and so are very good IMHO!
its a 12 month contract, £35/month with handset at £149.99 but quidco give £40 back
the fantastic o2 online deal is discontinued they told me last week. it was £219 for the handset and 12 months @ £19 with £35 back through quidco
now I've got my head around things I'm quite happy with the 8800

thats an unfortunate problem with all such housings. its also the same with my V3 keypad which seems to tarnish very quickly too

@masseur, many thanks for the quidco link. Just bought a 3250 from OSPS and earn £20 cash back! Great way to sign a new contract.

fantastic!
I thought from my previous rantings about quidco that everyone would know about them now
In the few months I have been using quidco I have received around £200 back!

I got myself another 8800.... but in BLACK................ and I love it..........
Much prefer the BLACK over the SILVER and the camera / video recording quality seems better on it to.
Its strange as I sold my SILVER one about 3 months back and said I would never get one of these phones again..............
And here I am again.................
Lets see how long this lasts...........
Cheers
ENJOY
