Hi all, I am running Windows XP with a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth dongle which is supplied with the Widcomm Bluetooth 1.3.5 software.

The T68i is R2E006 software version (I know there is later, I will speak to the service center tomorrow for updated versions)

I connect the com port, in the bluetooth browser, however the Mobile Monitor application will not recognise a phone. I have checked to make sure the com ports are enabled in the settings for the monitor, and the Bluetooth Browser shows "good" signal strength for the serial port connection.

Any suggestions ?

I had terrible problems getting anything to work (except FMA) until I upgraded to version 16 of the software.

I've written a little article about how to install this properly to get it all working.

If it still doesn't work after installing version 16, GOwin is your best bet for help.

thank you for the comprehensive instructions! i am using the D-Link DBT 120 BT Dongle but I'm using the the Tecomm software instead of the Widcomm. I followed your instructions and I am able to send pictures from my T68i to my laptop running XP. i am also able to send pictures to my phone by dragging it to the t68i inbox in My Bluetooth Places, Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood, T68i.

however, i am unable to send files from my laptop to the t68i. i tried sending an .imy file from my laptop by right clicking and choosing send to Bluetooth, there's a small arrow and another option opens up as "Other...". Since this is the only option, i select it then a Select Device Type windows opens but does not display the T68i! i also tried dragging the .imy file to the inbox but that doesn't work either!

i was hoping that sending files to the phone from the laptop would be as easy as right clicking and selecting bluetooth but does does not seem to be the case. can you help?

also, how can i get synchronization to work? i am running outlook 2002 but it doesn't seem to be synching w/the t68i. i am only able to send contacts one at a time by selecting it, going to file, then it displays send to Bluetooh, T68i.

The laptop is paired w/the t68i as it is listed under paired devices. so i don't know what i'm doing wrong!

any help you can give would be appreciated! thankyou in advance!

Yet another post on this subject!!
The XP synchronisation (XTND) doesn't work unless you install the latest version of 'my pictures' from the SE website. Once installed enable a COM port in the MPM (mobile phone monitor) settings (click on 'help' to find).
Make sure you have a serial port set up in 'my bluetooth places' and allocate the same COM port as the enabled one in MPM.
Now send a file to your phone using 'my pictures'. Once successful the XTND software should work.

The best place is right here ... check out the post http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=3497&forum=17 which has links to all the software on the SE site.

I had a look for the 'mypictures' program on the SE site and couldn't find it either. I think you can download the whole communications suite with it on but that isn't the version I have working on XP. So I have uploaded it onto my PWP.
You can download it here:
http://www.dr-high.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Files/MyPictures_301144_english.exe

I recommend before installing that you uninstall all SE software. Then install the 'my pictures' from above link and then install the latest XTND software.

Then send file with my pictures and then synchronise with outlook.

Hope this works. It did for me.

Hi...this sucks that we all have to work this hard to get this technology to work...

I have installed...
Tecom Bluetooth Software v16
SE Synch Software v 1.5.1
XTNDconnectPC

I can get Tecom to find and link to my t68i...

But I cannot get SE Synch software or xtendconnect pc to recognize or find my t68i using bluetooth.

All I want to do is simply sync my Outlook contacts and calendar to my phone...sounds simple...BUT IT IS NOT...

PLEASE...can someone point me in the right direction of fixing this. I read several post about com ports, but do not really understand. ANY HELP??? THANKS.

I think the key was to make sure you go into the Mobile Monitor and make sure the COM Port configuration matches the com port assignments in the bluetooth COM1 and COM2 (COM3 and COM4 for me) theoretically it should sync.

To test you should be able to set the phone to discovery mode and then open Floats Mobile Agent, click on "Connect" and it should automatically negotiate a connection without you having to go into the Bluetooth settings and manually connect the com port.

If the above works, close Floats Mobile Agent and then open Outlook and Synchronise ... it *should* work (or at least works for me)

I followed the Bluetooth guide provided by GOwin here -> http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=10241&forum=18

Make sure you use Package 4 (4RA) available on this thread here -> http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=3497&forum=17

Basic Steps.

1: Uninstall all Bluetooth and SonyEricsson software.
2: Reboot
3: Install Sony Ericsson Package 4
5: Reboot
6: Install the latest TDK or Tecom? software.
7: Reboot
8: Check and ensure the comports in the Mobile Monitor match the Com Ports designated in the Bluetooth software (Com 3 up?)

Thats the quick and nasty guide. GOwin's thread explains it better and has more tips, so read the thread before jumping in and doing it.

Hmmm....

@soccerdude: If you read my thread before yours I have included a link for the 'mypictures' that works with XP. I know this to be the only supported 'mypictures' for XP becasue I talked to SE about it and the guy I spoke to reckoned he was involved in making that version compatible. Also I know it works on my pc.

@P1aGu3: Interesting order of installment there. It certainly did NOT work for me unless installment is in this order: Uninstall everything to do with bluetooth, then install Tecom's BT version 16, then reboot. Then install SE 'mypictures' see link in my last thread then install XTND. Then send picture in 'mypictures' then use XTND.
If you have it working another way then fair play but I spent about a week doing every single know combination to man kind and this way is the only way that works for me!

Also I really don't ever use any other software other than XTND and the BT version16. Why bother? You can send and recieve any file whatsoever with the version 16 software and do all your synchronising with XTND.

I know there is Christerson's software that allows you to use your phone as a remote control for winamp but I already have a seperate IR control for winamp so I have no need for that.
