Retrieve data after BROD on k850i

Long time reader, first time writer.

I've used my k850i as a notebook for a long time, and the idiot I am, I havn't backed it up. And now I got the BROD.
They way I've used it, is I would create a text message with my note, and just not send it, so it would store the message with my note. Can I retrieve these in any way? They are VERY valuable to me. I've tried to only flash a new main via a2uploader, but without luck. I've been googling it for hours. If there is a paysite that will do the trick, I am villing to pay.

I figure it would work the same way as with any a2 based phone!!
The information is still in there, I just need to find a way into it. Like with a broken harddrive.

Posted by lukechris
Sorry, it's virtually impossible if the phone won't turn on, try charging the phone, it's suprising how many BROD's come from a dead battery1

Posted by Flem3000
I, unfortunately, already tried that. Is there any chance of trying my luck with a lot of different mains, without installing new filesystems? And if so, is there a system to go by, or is it just trial and error?

Posted by fjnty5
sorry man your gonna have to reflash the whole phone most likely..not just the main

Posted by fjnty5
unless the EROM is corrupt you will have to reflash your phone, you can do it for free or pay for a credit from davinciteam or wotanserver..best of luck

flem3000 Just try this method from here:

http://chomikuj.pl/magik-thc/K850+MODS/BACKUP/boot/boot.rar

for some people it works without reflash of the phone.

Góód luck m8!!!

Cool I'll try. But I cant find the download. Could you help me with a direct link?
Also: I don't know where to upload this boot file!?

Posted by Flem3000

1) I finally found my way through the polish link, and downloaded the boot files. Does anyone know where I'm supposed to upload it? Whe I press the FileSystem Tool on a2uploader I get the
"PHONE STATE: "RETAIL"
FLASH CID: 0052
OTP LOCKED:1 CID:52 PAF:1 IMEI:3xxxxxxxxxxxxx CERT:RED
LDR:2008-07-23 12:03 CXC1250843_DB31XX_CS_LOADER_ACC_SDRAM_R2A065

LDR CAPS:SYSTEM FLASH GDFS FILESYSTEM TA
can't get NET header"
-message.

2) "unless the EROM is corrupt you will have to reflash your phone"
How do I check this? It was pretty easy on my k800, but I don't have any blinking red lights here.

3) is there a chance someone will write a script someday, so I can get to the files, or backup the filesystem and read them through that? 'Cause then I will just use my backup phone till then, in the hopes that someone will.

4) Does the main, and the filesystem have to be from the same what-ever this-number-"R1EA031"-fefers-to?

I'm beginning to feel like my ex, leaving more messages than I get replys:)

@Flem3000
Are you able to access file system via A2uploader?

If yes then there is a way to restore all of your messages after reflash.

EDIT If you can't access file system then try PhoneExplorer and let me know.

Note PhoneExplorer is a FTP (file transfer protocol) system that lets you access to your phone' internal file system. It is not MyPhoneExplorer.

No, I can't access the file system. I get the "...can't get NET header" message. Is there a way to fix that?
I haven't had any luck with phone exploror yet. It wants to download something to my phone, which it can't. I will try again later tonight.

1.0.0.1

sorry but it should work... Latest version is 1.01.
Do you know how to use PhoneExplorer? You first set your password in setting tab. AFter that you chose your phone model and simply connect the phone while holding the c key. Username is www.cruisersuite.com & password is what you put in settings. Then you've to use any of your favourite FTP software to explore the phone file system.

Wait... I think maybe I downloaded a wrong program, with the exact same name and version number http://www.sympasoft.com/downloads.htm. I just found the other program via google. Well, I am looking forward to trying it tomorrow. I have to do some ftp 101 metacafe turorials before I can start. Hehe.

No news is good news? Buntoo?
I don't want to bite the dust yet... There must be some way of accessing the filesystem, even though I've got BROD.

Maybe anyone knows of a paysite that will do it??

p.s. Are you sure you're using PhoneExplorer right way?
