why could the camera lense share with C903.it'll sexier that way

Posted by Muhammad-Oli
In my opinion the camera cover on the back of this one is really really ugly. Otherwise the phone is ok, pretty plain really.

Posted by mistamatrix
k750 anyone?

I like it, at least it has a xenon flash.

Posted by Killfr3nzy
Don't like this one.. nothing new.

Posted by Pitzon
Im exited, like a c902 with a strong flash.. Might be going for one

The camera at the front is for video calling, it doesn't mean 3G. And to be honest, what would Walkman really bring to the table? From experience, Cyber-shot phones can do the music player thing almost as well, if not just as well as Walkman phones.

among all the 5mp phones this one seems to be the perfect k850 replacement. simply because it is candybar and has xenon flash.

Improvements on K850, IMO:

No auto lens cover
No Touch sensitive buttons

IF SE have actually remembered a camphone should have a nice big viewfinder, and put 2.2" LCD instead of K850's 2", then that's obviously better, too, but noone seems to know this yet......

If <250 Euros, should do well......

In a way it does. Only 3G phones have video call cameras.

if i'm not mistaken, K850 is 2.2"...not sure bout this...maybe 2.4"....if you compare it with C902, improvement of 0.4"

Well yeah, I didn't word it very well. It means 3G is there, but 3G doesn't need it.

Posted by Aware
Nuts...I had been thinking of C902's 2", not K850, so yes, LCD is equal size then(shame, 2.4" would be great, still)......

Any word at all on pricing for this??

Here you go Tranced (and any others that can't view it yet).

whats the video recording like? qvga@30fps too??...

Posted by puestadelsol
Just the C901 won't have front camera for video calls?
The C903 and also the C510 has it...

Posted by wiraperkasa
yeah i notice that too...the only differents between C510 and C901 are C901 is 5mp and xenon while C510 has front camera.given that C510 has decent pricetag for its class, C901 should also have a decent pricetag for its class..

Posted by janosik
Deja-vu effect !

Posted by puestadelsol
It's nonsense that C903 has image and video stabiliser, but it seems that C901 has just video stabiliser... I hope it has image stabiliser too... I want to change my K850, and if C901 produces better pictures, I'll buy it, but without image stabiliser, or front camera would be quite many compromisses.

Posted by Firefreak

Finally. I've been waiting a long time for a slim candybar style Cybershot with Xenon flash. The K850 with a lenscover behind a lens was a disaster. This on the other hand I think will do very well.

Posted by phonecrzy
ew, not for me, I like the C903 REALLY NICE BLACK ONE, red looks tacky.

Posted by puestadelsol
I just really-really hope that the C901's colour reproduction will be as good as T700's (I think at the moment this (and G705, W705, etc) phone has the best colour reproduction among the Sony Ericsson phones, and sadly the Cybershot phones the worst)

Posted by adnansanni
Looks nice to me.

Posted by nnr3
Any info about video-recording? I hope it's high quality VGA-30FPS...

Posted by tbroe
Why do se never bring out anything new or exciting anymore? So its basically a K850 in a K770's body? yawn

Posted by Mr Miyagi
OMG OMG I WANT THIS PHONE NOW

This is the next natural phone choice replacement for my beloved K850i. Can someone please confirm it has 3G front video calling. My upgrade is in April woohooo can't wait to get this Do you think it will be out by April anyone?

What a great phone and so happy it has xeon flash and does it have HSDPA?

Can I confirm this does not have touch sensitive buttons? It does not look like it?

Posted by HxH
Sorry to you Mr. Miyagi C901 no front cam for video call.

Posted by Mr Miyagi
hmm ok HxH I guess its not much of a loss. As I have only used the video call on my phone once only. So I can do without But its a great phone in my opinion.

Overall a poor product form SE, NO GPS, NO WLAN,.This is what K850 should have been in First place..Too much to compromise considering release at q2 2009, And this phone willl not do well in any markets as there are Lower Priced C902 & k850i and C905 which would get cheaper by then .So i dont see a market for this .yet another poor move from SE in difficult situation.

WHaaaaaat no WIFI, ho screw this phone, and poor is display with only 2,2'

I am happy with this phone. I don't need wifi as I have HSDPA internet speed wherever I go. I don't need GPS, as I believe that drains the battery a lot, and nothing is better than a purpose built GPS Sat Nav. And about 3G video calling. I only ever used it once on my K850, never used it again. So overall this phone is going to be amazing

Is this phone as thick as the K850i? Does anyone know? or is the thickness the same as the C902?

[ This Message was edited by: Mr Miyagi on 2009-02-10 20:43 ]

Posted by NightBlade
It's 2mm thicker than the C902 and 4mm thinner than the K850.

It says this phone has geo tagging.what does that mean?does anyone think this phone will be out by april?

Posted by NightBlade
It gives your photos GPS coordinates so that you can later view where the shot was taken... say via Google Maps.
And I'm thinking more like May.
