Awesome kabayan!!! very clean! did you draw them on pencil then scan + Vectorized? and yes may account ako sa deviantart.
and i also happened to own a similar staedtler eraser like that one on the picture!! hehe

Posted by reeflotz
I used pencil and oslo paper, I don't have a scanner, just used my phone to take pics then did some editing on photoshop. The only one scanned there was Tifa Lockheart, when I was in my dad's office I was able to use the scanner there

patingin naman sa deviantart mo, penge link tnx

will try to contribute more to this thread, just got back to drawing

Posted by reeflotz
some more of my fanarts:

Kyou Fujibayashi

Asuka Kazama

Mitsuru Kirijo

Posted by razec
Wow clannad, i love kyou but i liked Tomoyo too! are you a KEY fan? loving the character designs of Na-ga.

and honestly i haven't contributed to deviantart yet because i forgot my unmemorized password, but there's a bunch of drawings waiting to be posted if i got a new account i'll send you a link i also did some CG colored anime drawings using photoshop.

seems like you're a fan of drawing female characters like me, nice!

Posted by reeflotz
yeah, at first I was only drawing female characters, but now I'm practicing both male and female character drawings. gotta have balance right?

nice, would like to see your CG colored ones , I'm trying to learn digital coloring too, using paintToolSAI and photoshop. I like clannad, shakugan no shana and lee myung jin's ragnarok character designs.

Posted by razec
i happened to have some shakugan no shana artworks, i would post them on Friday as that will be the only time i can access our scanner that's pain in the ass to use

Posted by reeflotz
looking forward to your shana artworks

some more of my drawings

Posted by razec
kabayan, heres my shana, not a fan art so you'll only see them here i can't post them at deviantart

with her partner, lover, and enemy (shakugan no shana III)

and here's my unfinilized fanart which i am currently working on, i plan to make it into CG art so i can post it on DA

hope you like it.

nice shading I'm waiting for the 3rd season of shana too.

recently drawn:

I still suck at drawing male charaters I just recently did one but the result was not good

Posted by razec
it would be really nice if they are colored, nice work there! and what's their name?

Posted by reeflotz
thanks, your shana artworks are nice too . The last two I posted were just random sketches that I made, I really don't have a name for them, the only named ones were Tomoko (female character) and Cray (male character), so far I only have one colored work which is Tomoko, I'm still trying to improve my drawing before I color them, hopefully I'll be able to do all of those before summer vacation ends, once classes start again I won't have time to draw anymore.

here's my colored work:

PaintToolSAI is a very nice program

Posted by razec
very nice! there the colors breathe some nice atmosphere on your drawing!

as for me i use either photoshop or inskcape, photoshop is very easy to use but i use inkscape whenever i deal with vectors

still working on my CG fanart but time constraints prevent me from doing it i am currently managing our internet shop while writing this

Posted by reeflotz
Just tried inkscape, great program, thanks for mentioning it, I've never heard of it before only problem is its laggy on my pc using an old P4

Posted by razec
Indeed Inkscape's minimum CPU is Sempron 140 @ 2.7Ghz, from there it should run well. my current PC is Athlon II 245 so there's plenty enough of performance for my character designs. i'm still waiting for the next version which is supposed to use GPU acceleration so that inkscape should run much faster.

for your config, you should try Xara Designer for windows. the trial is 30 days afaik, it's got the same UI layout as Inkscape, only much more streamlined and cleaner and it's the fastest vector graphics software around. it flies even on a single core sempron 140! ironically the linux version is free!

Posted by reeflotz
I've ended up using adobe illustrator if I need to do a quick lineart, anyway still I'll use PaintToolSAI mainly because it's very lightweight and easy to use if I need to do an accurate lineart, illustrator's live trace function only works on clean linearts. Both runs smoothly on my old 2.26Ghz P4, 1.5gb ram ddr400 as long as I don't reach resolutions of 10k pixels or more

managed to do a decent sketch of Cray:

Posted by razec
Just finished this last night

again unfinalized still needs to fix body proportion i think it sucks that i can only draw at night

Posted by reeflotz
It looks good I think the body proportions are fine, most of the time I draw at night too. I find it hard to draw when it's too hot during the afternoon because of summer.

I'm planning of making a wallpaper next. Gonna have to draw a new one and in landscape mode

edit:

finished this yesterday:

looks like she's got some large bust the lines on her right chest highlights them who's she btw?

Posted by reeflotz
lol, were they too large?

No name yet, can't think of a name, naming is the hardest part actually

This is my work in progress, will try to make a wallpaper out of it using PaintToolSAI and Photoshop:

The last picture looks like it's inspired by angel beats! a cross between Yuri (using pistols) and Kanade (angel wings)

I find it hard to draw when it's too hot during the afternoon because of summer.

Very true, this is the ultimate reason for me to avoid drawing during daytime, it sucks living on a temperate weather at times i can't understand how i sweat despite only moving my hands and concentrating!
[ This Message was edited by: razec on 2011-05-06 09:05 ]

Posted by reeflotz
Yeah, it's kind of like angel beats! Actually the wings was a random decision. Thought it'll look cool and at least I can fill the paper with lots of lines

Haven't really continued sketching, been busy these past days, but I'll continue drawing this maybe later or tomorrow, got hooked on playing Legend of Heroes Trails in The Sky on PSP.

Posted by reeflotz
I've just finished vectoring and coloring my work

Posted by razec
its alot better with the colours, i envy you for having enough time dealing with CG

Posted by ceaser2008
Wow. Which colors have you used?

Posted by reeflotz
@ceaser
Used PaintToolSAI mostly for the base colors and shadows, used different shades of blue, I used black with opacity toned down to 40% for the shadows. Photoshop for the glow like effects

@razec
I was quite satisfied with how it came out, but after looking at some more digital artworks done by others on deviantart I felt like I have to do better.

I'm actually running out of free time , classes are about to start this June again, I don't think I'll have free time next summer, gonna be busy with OJT.
