a friend of mine nokia 2600 phone screen was bleeding and he said he put the phone in a ziplock bag and put it in a hot pot of boiling water and said the bleeding was gone. Its true i saw it for my self the bleeding was gone but the crack was still there.

Dont know if the heat took it out but it was gone.

NOTE: Use at own risk and get a good ziplock bag that no water will leak into.

I'd get scared if I put a phone in.... Imagine the bag melting to the phone or something like that and your hmm W900 is broken

Posted by kahmeelo
id get scared too but, one thing i know for sure that trick work the screen is just like a new except for the crack in it

cant you just microwave it? It removes the danger of water damage from leaks in the bag/because it melted

Posted by shaliron
a) Never ever put anything with metallic parts in a microwave. The microwaves will bounce off the metal and at best you will fry your microwave, and at worst you could start an electrical fire.
b) Microwaves use microwaves to make the water in food vibrate and in turn, make the water heat up the food. This is why you can't microwave a meat pie and expect it to be crispy!

The ziplock my friend use didnt melt. Dont know if it was thick.

I tired it on some ipod screens and it half worked it say moved about 1 mm of bleed but after that nothing (maybe my water got cold)

im going to put it to the test now

Posted by EastCoastStar
okay, tried it, and no luck.
but then again, looking closly at my ipod, it has 7 little cracks on the right side, so that could be it. maybe i didnt do it long enough?

oh well, no luck for me.

Posted by kahmeelo
try again

Posted by EastCoastStar
will do soon, not right now though. will use a bigger pot too.

how long do u let it stay in?

Posted by Sammy_boy
This may be a silly question, but wouldn't the heat damage the phone/iPod even more and kill it completely, especially if in the boiling water for extended periods?

Posted by Chrispy
i still wonder... why not just put the phone in a, say, oven? that would heat it, without the imminent risk of water damage putting your phone in water would pose.. just my little thought

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
oven would melt and damage it... even on low tempts, water is fine as long as its ina sealed bag

Posted by DickySnapples
wouldnt this cause condensation and just end up water damaging the phone?

Why not just remove the screen and put THAT in a bag and boil it?

I can just imagine Mums an Dads around the globe coming home to find their kids "cooking" I-pods and mobiles in their expensive kitchen ware:)

I'm sure the universal responce to their outrage will be "Esato told me to do it" !!!!

Maybe a general health warning should be applied to this thread?

As for the bloke suggesting he use a microwave??? well..Shaliron pretty much covered that....

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
ha ha, well I actually have the ipod screns lose and it has to be said I did see the fluid moving a bit, but not enough to make a serious differnce, im going to rey again now. Condensation isnt a problem as long as thereisnt to much air in the bag

Posted by EastCoastStar
exactly as @luke said, i did see it move, but not a huge difference, at all

Posted by AIKON
Has anyone tried this with an iPod nano yet? I have one with a broken screen but too scared to try it!

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
yes east coaster did and with no real sucsess

Posted by EastCoastStar
yea, i did. and as @luke said, no success.

BUT how bad is your crack? i have quite a few little cracks, with one huge crack, so it might just be becuase my crack is so big. is yours just one crack?
