Rumour:New Sony Ericsson Cybershot Phone?
14 October 2006 by axxxr Could this be the new 2 Megapixel Sony Ericsson Cybershot Phone? Image removed due to problems for the insider Not quite sure at this stage if this is genuine or not,but in esato forums pictures have been posted of a new Cybershot branded 2 Megapixel Phone,by the looks of it,seems to be a entry level Cybershot device.As you can see from the pictures below the layout of the phone seems rather different from what normally expect from a Sony Ericsson of this class.The chrome lens cover on the back of the device seem rather nice,aswell as the keypad.will keep you posted on any official announcement. thanks:chrstphr source:secentral Images removed due to problems for the insider

Its not just low and mid end phones. In the past SE was able to release such kind of models and still release mid/high end phones which were top notch and very competitive. The high end market doesnt sell as many products but it has the biggest market share in terms of revenue, and thats more important than units sold, not to mention that it is a much more loyal market. SE is neglecting that market not only cause of fewer changes in models but also because is not moving gradually like consumers would expect and that leads to misunderstanding and mistrust. I bet u no one here would get upset at a new more advanced model, quite the contrary. We are all hoping for SE to grow we just think that its taking a direction we dont appreciate and we are the ones who actually buy its phones for years. New buyers my come now but we are the ones who´d still be buying SE in the future, and we are the market with the best cost/profit ratio. For instance, this low end cybershot phone may attract some new buyers but it hurts the view of high quality and futuristic that the cybershot brand had. SE is playing cheap and creating a cheap image. If it continues like that it will only sell products according to its image, and it will never start competing against the big boys.
