K750i on vodafone |

Well, while I have been chasing them up this week, the party line has been "we don't have the black K750i in stock".
What a shambles.
Mind you, the ex-Vodafone employees who work for me are somewhat unsuprised!!
Anyway - hopefully it will be a new phone tomorrow and most likely a new network!!! |

It seems like it is standard practice for Voda Sales Staff to lie to their customers because I had the exact same thing happen. I phoned up for my PAC at which point they asked me why I was leaving Voda, I explained that I wanted a K750i but would only be happy with an unbranded generic version and they told me that they had generic ones in stock and it would not be a problem for me to upgrade to one so I went ahead with the upgrade.
Imagine my disappointment when an Aluminium Voda Live K750i turned up!!! I phoned them the same day and told them to take it back. I now how my lovely black UNBRANDED K750i on O2 from CPW
On the question of what is under the Voda logo, I would guess there is nothing because the Quickshare logo on my K750i is only a sticker. I think the Voda sticker would be instead of the Quickshare sticker, not as well as. |

i'm another who was lied to by Vodafoney in order to complete an upgrade. was told that they definetly had the unbranded K750i in stock and of course i received a silver Live! a couple of days later.
rang that day to say they had sent me the wrong one, was then told that the black 750i would be in stock later that day and to ring back then to arrange delivery and pickup of silver and black phones.
so rang back and was told the black vers would not be available until the beginning of July.
basically a complete lie in order to complete an upgrade (on which they billed me £20 more than they quoted, which i eventually got refunded).
very disappointed with Vodafone on this.

tuesnightspecial, after 20 days of suffering from Vodafone. Today (after a week Vodafone picked up the mobile from me), I managed to call them and reverted to my old plan. However, they said they cannot do that, since my old plan Leisure 500 is not longer available.
that's hilarious. They should have said that when they upgraded me. Even on the letter, they didn't mention about that. Vodafone is fooling the customers.
For those whom had the same case as me, for my assumption, i think all VODAFONE Sales, they try to BOOST their sales figure, so they lied to customer in order to increase their commission. Otherwise, what's the advantages for them to lie to us -
There is unbranded version
there is a black SE K750i.
I was told that they won't have any black until august or even later.
I ordered PAC Code already. Hope they will arrive asap. I have been waiting far too long now for a new mobile after all those FIGHTING with VODAFONE DIRECT. |

chloekwan when i normally cancel a contract, they normally pass me over to a "specialist team" to try and convince me to stay by trying to offer me better offers etc, but i always say no to them, then once they have tried to keep hold of u, they then say ok, when you want ur contract cancelled. Thats what normally happens to me lol. |

thank you...i have got 4 contract with them and only recently when i tried to cancel it, instead of calling me they just wrote me a letter confirming cancelation and ask me if i ever change my mind i can ring them which to me now, its makes me feel that they are not bothered NEmore. so how long does it take for them to ring you? |

They call you these days it seems. Took about 2-3 days in my case.
I finally got an unbranded K750i from Carphone Warehouse. Didn't get a killer deal, but the phone was free, and I get to stay on Vodafone (great reception). They migrate you to THEIR Vodafone billing and customer service dept. and that surely has to be better than the muppets I have dealt with from Vodafone themselves up to now. Result and hassle free.
The phone is fantastic, a massive improvement over my 6230. |

I'm with Voda at the mo. I believe you've got to serve 30 days notice before you cancel. When you get your PAC to take your number to a new network, you've got that month to port the number. Trouble is, you could end up paying 2 lots of bills for a month, 1 for your old network, 1 for your new network.
Carphone Warehouse told me a couple of weeks ago they had some black unbranded K750i's on Voda. Even that's not gonna convince me to stay with the network. |

hi i thought i would join the forum as im a soon to be k750i owner, sadly with the voda branding. but i did talk to vodafone and they said the mp3s not working isnt their fault and you can send them off or download the upgrade from SE website to get the menu option added back on, they blamed SE for the mix up. |

I too am the not so proud owner of a Vodafone Live edition of the SE K750i
Vodafone failed to deliver it on the date that they told me but after a phone call to Customer Serviced it arrived a day after. At the time of ordering Customer Services said that it could be either a black or silver version that was being delivered but they could not tell me which. She advised that if I was unhappy with the colour that I could exchange it for the correct one.
When it arrived I called Vodafone who said that they couldn’t help and only supplied the silver LIVE version! Surprise surprise!!
My mate’s got the black one and the silver one is no comparison at all. It looks like one of the really old models and for me personally I just prefer the black one. Looks aside, I’m pretty disappointed about the loss in functionality and have e-mailed Sony (currently awaiting a response). I’ll let you know how I get on.

For anyone that's interested, I found this post regarding the Sony DRM Packager. This can be used to convert your mp3 files so they can be used as ringtones on the Vodafone K750i.

There is a link to the software about halfway down the page. http://home.tiscali.ch/tutorials/drm_package r_1_21.zip
I've tried this out and it works.
Also noticed that you can buy the black front & back covers and the keys for the K750i. Has anyone tried this? Just wondered how easy it was. |

Obviously not in Vodafones interest to "unlock the phone, hence me finding the Esato site and asking the questions! Can anyone else assist in me utilising my " lucky " gift

If you call voda's customer services, they'll sell you the network unlock code for £20. Doesn't require you to send the phone off, and (currently) not too different a price from the places advertising to do it for you, on ebay. |

Does anyone know what's underneath the "Vodafone" logo? If we were to peel it off do you think it would show "quickshare" like this:
Who has the balls to peel his off?

I removed mine when the phone arrived. There is nothing at all underneath but in my opinion it looks a lot better (still not a patch on the black version tho!) |

Sorry to hear some of the crap some of you guys have had to put up with from voda !! I've only just moved over to them when singlepoint were bought out.
I had to send my first back and get an unbranded version, threatened to leave and was lucky enough last time to get an unbranded K700 but now I with voda direct I suspect i will have exactly the same problem !!
So based on what I've read, think i will try it on and ask them to confirm via email, (whilst I'm on the phone) that I will be getting an unbranded version to cover myself, if however, they can't supply an unbranded phone or even confirm they can via email then I will be saying and asking for my pac code.
