yeah, like Qtek 5050 or something.
It is a bit too big for my liking too. I know use the Qtek 2020 (MDAII and so on). It is already big and I always thought size doesn't matter (I used to drag around a notebook + cellphone) but....

Now that the summer is on it's way I noticed the problem in size. Last friday it was 34C (93F?). I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I didn't know where to put the pda! Good thing I have the T105 as backup. Fits in any pocket! To compair the T105 is 75grams, the 2020 190g and the universal is 210g.
Everything was ugly, but your beautiful face.

according to this Pocket PC Thoughts article i-mate will definitly be putting out this universal with their own brand.

This was what I was hoping, and more or less assumed would happen

I wish they had made a small screen with numeric keypad behind the touch screen, with the user having the option of using which ever they like...

Expansys are now listing the i-mate version of this and its called the JasJar at a price of £744.95 !! saying it will be available in a few weeks.

strange thing is that I don't find anything about it on the i-mate site and only one mention of a beta hardware version of it on a google search

Expansys say "It will boast a 180° rotating screen, full fold-out keyboard, tri-band GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth, WiFi, a 1.3 Megapixel camera and much more" but no mention of 3G and for that price I would hope it had the 3G

Looks a bit too much like a makeup mirror.

I guess its possible that Expansys just don't have all the facts but you'd think they'd know if it was 3G or not

anyway, for that price I won't be interested so it doesn't matter much I guess but I was intrigued to see them say its available in a few weeks and quoting a price when that was the first I heard of it, especially as Expansys coming soon stuff normally doesn't have a price

it is 3G, orange have it available to pre-order, and its under their 3G section, and also in the brief description they say:

'The Orange SPV M5000 is a 3G PDA that can be used to make and recieve voice calls; it's even got a mega-pixel camera and a screen that you can turn through 180 degrees.'

There you go masseur.

yeah, I know the model is 3G (its mentioned in the first post of this thread for example) but the point I was making was that it seemed like a large omission on the side of Expansys to not mention 3G and that left me wondering if the i-mate version some how left out the 3G capability

I guess we'll have to wait and see

I just found a blog with an initial impression from someone who has managed to get his hands on a HTC Universal device.

I guess most of it is as I might have expected but its interesting that he notes how BIG it is!

engadget now have a 'hands on' page with lots of images and also a mini Q&A page

I'm gonna have to get one of these, I just can't help myself and have always been a big fan of pocketpc/windows mobile
