HTC announced its plans to release the world's first 3G Windows Mobile 5.0-based device, the HTC Universal.

The HTC Universal is a 3G-enabled device that takes advantage of the advanced Windows Mobile 5.0 features, The built-in keyboard enables users to create and edit files with Microsoft Office applications. For phone and communications, the latest video telephony and dual-camera functionality facilitate high-speed connections and videoconferencing. The clamshell design of the device features a 180 degree pivot screen. With its new user interface boasting portrait and landscape modes, the new 3G phone will automatically change to the best interface. Users can also switch between the two display modes at their own discretion. In addition, users can send and receive pictures and video files at more rapid connection speeds. With its dual speaker stereophonic sound system, users can enjoy smooth and high-resolution videos at anytime.

I'll be taking a very close look at this but from pics I've seen before it might be a tad bigger than I would like

however, the Jam 2 is coming late in the year with 128mb and built in wifi and the rumour is that it will also have windows mobile v5 too

This particular device is quite larger than usual, its meant to be a kind of cross between a laptop and a Pda...would have been perfect if it was as compact as the jam.

Im not too keen on how it looks, or the folding keyboard.

Still it would be a worthy replacement for my current XDA2.

Most of htc products just dont focus on battery life and they keep on adding more and more features

well i dont no about the other products, but they have though about the battery life on the jam, i am happy with it, it lasts me well.

actually i dont have the s700, i usually change the pictures when i am bored .

there is a video clip of the htc win 5.0, i have to say when i saw the size against the other pocket pc i said no way, but on this video a man holds the 5.0 unit and i have to say it doesnt look that bad, its kinda ok check for your selfs, and it also talks about the samsung i300 with 3 gig hard disk http://metahost.savvislive.co[....]/medc_20050510_300_archive.asx
