to glenn and blackspot :

K700 cannot read .aac files directly. You have to use .mp4 (or .m4a) kind of files. You can use iTunes from Apple to convert mp3 or audio files to .m4a files and listen with k700.

.mp4 and .m4a files contain .aac code for audio. aac code has better quality than mp3 code for the same bit rate. So if you satisfied with 128kbps bit rate mp3 files, you can get the same quality with aac code in 64 kbps bit rate. Smaller bit rate means smaller file size so you can squeeze more songs to k700 limited memory without sacrificing the sound quality than if you do it with mp3 code.

To me, for daily use, aac code in 64 kbps bit rate is good enough to company you while on the road to hear some songs with stereo quality. 5 mb song file in 128 kbps can become 3 or 4 mb in 64 kbps.

Jojo matey, you forgot about the multiple web browsing thingy and also the fact that is is very much cheaper than the K700! I'm not at all rich you know! I love that multiple browsers thing on the 6600. Gr8 feature for wappers!

How much do the 2 phones cost at your place mate coz in delhi 6600 is just 500Rs cheaper than the k7...i'm talking about brand new boxed pieces that is. Also referring to your web browsing impressions of the 6600 let me mention that its slower gprs class6 while k7 is class10

I don't know why you're telling me this I specifically mentioned "mp4 support" didn't I?

So how much difference in speed does a class seven and class ten gprs have between them? Can't be too much.

I agree, smartphones are basically designed as a business phone while non-smartphones are like everyday/party phones, sort of.
resistance is futile.

I am under the impression that the quality of 64kbit mp4 files is not identical to 128kbit mp3 files when heard from the phone itself. Also the phone doesn’t support mp3PRO right?

You se guys cant even admit that the 6600 is better and there is no comparison between these phone.Use your heads here, the 6600 was built to compete with p800 or p900 years back when.If it was made for the k700i it would be released last year along with it!
