When will a phone that suits my needs be released? |

It should :
- be lightweight (preferrably as light as my k500)
- support 3g (or at least EDGE) and perhaps WiFi
- have a good web browser
- have a high resolution screen
- have a camera. Nothing fancy. VGA would do.
To say it shortly. I want a phone that I can use for browsing all the web. And it must be small enough to fit in my pocket.. |

the thing is, the features you want especially the 3g and wifi arent in any small lightweight phones, i just dont think the technology is readily available yet for that. Maybe those features will be available in a small lightweight phone in about 1-2 years.

- Display:176x220 64K TFT
- Operating system: MS Win Mobile 2003 SE
- Memory size:ROM-63MB; RAM-32MB
- IrDA/Buit-in modem/Bluetooth
- Digital Camera: 0,3 VGA, 4xzoom, video
- External memory cards: Mini-SD

@gbrooks3 God! I hope it won't take THAT long!
@gogivov I could just keep my k500 then.. I realize the k700 has better screen resolution, but it still won't be enough to view web pages properly.
@DSF Yeah, I have seen that phone. I guess when it can run Opera (which is the best browser for me on PC), it can view most not-so-advanced web pages. I would really want a bigger screen resolution though.. |

haneramper sorry, but i think if you want a larger resolution the phone size will increase.
You can try then one of the smallest PDAPhone, i-mate JAM (108 x 58 x 18,2), if you are a PDA fan...
For more info of i-mate JAM go to:

The i-mate thingy looks quite cute actually, but it lacks fast data transfer.. I know I probably can't get the phone I want now (hence the thread title) but how hard could it be?
The s700 has the nice screen but is too big. Could it be made smaller with the same screen and the fancy camera traded for EDGE? |

haneramper - if you hold out for a bit, SE are working on a cheap 3G mobile with 'average' features that is small and light. It's going to be cheap, design is based on the T610.. and for now, she's called 'Mirei'.
That's all I can tell you at the moment. |

That sounds really nice! Just hope it will be able to view web pages properly. I don't really care about video-phonecalls and such.. |
