That was mentioned earlier but so far the internal one has never been available here anyway so no major loss

OK people here are some pics I took quickly just earlier today.
Hopefully to give you an idea of the size and some details of this machine:

The machine:

Here you can see how thin it is (compared with a P900):

Overall size (with P900) sorry about the blur:

Size comparison with the PS2 pad:

Here you can see the Power and Open buttons. Also the swiveling logo, USB ports and IR receiver:

Here you see the rear connectors. From left to right they are Network, Digital Optical Out, AV Multi Out and Power:

Here you see the flip open to load a disc:

Internal mechanisms. Note the white rectangle at the back, this is spring loaded and rests on the disc when inserted. It prevents the disc from spinning anti-clockwise so only allowing it to spin one way. If you push this back of the disc it can spin both ways:

Here you see comparison of thickness with a game box. Note the game is also aligned with the bottom of the machine so you can see the comparison of length also. The IR receiver is again visible:

Hope you liked them

I think the whole point is that it doesn't look out of place in a modern living room next to your slim dvd player and mini freeview box etc. I won't be getting one myself but hopefully it'll knock the prices of 2nd hand silver ps2s down further and i might consider getting one. :-)

@miklsp:

The Xbox is way better that PS2.. both in graphics, sound, speed and storage.. In my opinion, the Xbox is more silent than my PS2..

When I first got PS2, I said every day, Xbox SUCKS!! But one day, me and some of my friends gathered up at a mate's house and he has an Xbox...

1: Xbox graphics kicks the crap out of PS2!
2: @bosshog is right, the PS2 has no surround, as my mate has both PS2 and Xbox, and we usually play on his cinema system, while Xbox has surround.

3: The HDD option is a nice feature ( 8GB to 8MB ?),
and if you are to lasy to take your Xbox to your mate because it's a little bigger and a little heavier than a laptop, you can stay at home

4: the Xbox came with LAN and Ethernet port built in from the start. PS2 didn't, so I had to buy an very expensive adapter..

5: With the DVD player thingy, as new DVD players are coming out, the price drops steady.. So you can get a decent DVD player, instead of buying the Xbox DVD kit.

6: No HDD on Xbox2? That is NOT confirmed by Microsoft in any way, it's just a rumour so far!

7: With a decent modchip, you can turn your Xbox into a mid-grade PC.. It has the basic components as HDD,CPU, GPU and RAM... My friend has an Xbox, running on both Windows 98 and Gentoox ( linux), and it's working perfectly. With modchip you can also put an 300GB HDD and that is COMPLETELY impossible with PS2..

I like Sony, but I really regret all the shit I said about Xbox, coz it beats the crap out of PS2, and I really regret
that I bought PS2 instead of Xbox... but done is done..

And one last thing... the great game HALO and the coming HALO 2, will make Xbox rock totally

cheers, mero

I think it's simple, when ps2 came out it already had tons of games cos it played all the old playstation games, xbox started from none, and as a result i know tens of ppl with ps2s and i can count the xbox owners i know on one hand. It might be better if your gonna study all the specs but i'd still take a ps2 so i can borrow games off mates for it. Same goes 4 gamecube, i only know 1 gamecube owner :-D

Me just ordered my PS2 "Slimline" and GTA:SA.

Let me hope there are no problems.

What are the problems you people are facing?
I need to know!

Thanks!
