you've upgraded to a Z800 so that could be my best solution.
I tried putting it on silent on the V800 but that didn't work.

Hi guys!
I need your help on something...someone is selling me a SE V802se. He says its the one from vodafone, I asked him if it has been flash with z800i firmware already and he told me that he doesn't know...all he knows is that it is openline...by openline does that mean it has been flash with z800i firmware already? Can anyone enlighten me on this matter? Your help would be greatly appreciated....Another question of mine is that is it possible for the SE V802se to customise message alert tones to play mp3s? Thanks in Advance c",)

If you aren't in Japan, I strongly suggest you get this phone flashed w/ the Z800 firmware. Vodafone Japan's version is pretty seriously constrained... it doesn't let you even play mp3s at all (w/o seperate delivery DRM packing), much less use them as ringtones.

(either way, it won't let you play anything but the predefined sounds for message alerts).

It also has some of the customization (of shortcut buttons, etc) removed and replaced w/ buttons that go directly to vodafone Live, etc... gets very annoying.

'open line' probably means accessible for all SIM cards (unlocked) but not unbranded. V802 cannot play MP3's, possibly not even DRM protected ones.

According to SE's knowledge base website and someone i talked to at Vodafone, the Japanese 802 model can only play Seperate Deliver DRM files. (of course the only place i think you could get them from would be from Vodafone Live Japan... at some sort of absurdly high price).

Anyone here who has tired to rebuilt the headset and put on an minitele-plug instead of the ear-phones.
I want to do that so I will be able to plug my phone to stereos and other units with audio in. Like in my car-stereo. I want to be able to lissen to my mp3s in my car!

Anyone got any knowledge about this and do you think it would work?

hi there people and thanks for a great site!

I have just bought a v800(i) for the main reason of photo-blogging. However having just had a tinkle SE seemed to have removed the "send by email" option on a photo. Please say it isnt true. I have called Vodafone and whilst they said you can definitely send camera shots by email - they couldnt tell me how to do it! I am sure one of you experts must know a way otherwise this little baby is going back!

Thanks in advance and happy weekend

@Vilbs,

You are correct. Sucks very much so, however there is a way around this. Go to this post: Click me and enter the promise land of Vodafone free phones. and follow directions. If you need help please post in this forum as I and the other guys with the same problem read and post there.

Cheers

The v800 has lots of good functionality. It is a bit big. other than that the menu is good and 3g works when I have coverage.

The biggest prob I have had is in this hot weather in a top shirt pocket, it overheated causing me to throw it on a desk and take the battery due to feeling heat and smelling electrical burning.

Lg's have had the same prob and the v800's appear to overheat whilst gaming.

If you want to send a photo to email, just choose send as picture message and then enter an email address instead of a phone number.

I am getting used to it now but yo. It was not easy.

I don't think anyone has mentioned it so I assume the answer is no but does the V/Z800 support push-to-talk
P990 from N70, still not sure if it was a good move :s
