Hi there, sorry if this has been mentioned before. I have a starnge bluetooth problem with my p900. I can get it to link with my pc and the double arrow shows it connected, I can sync and do all the normal things.

The problem is, when i disconnect, say i go to into the ktichen. I cannot reconnect with the pc. The only way i can do so is to log off my conputer and restart it. Then it "finds" the phone and automatically connects it again.

Any one had the same problem, any solutions?

Windows XP SP2 user.

Shitty microsoft, another poor and pathetic piece of software ( SP2 ).

BT + P900 works just fine with Macs :-> In fact I tried to pair up P900 and XP (SP1) together and it just wouldn't work.

Plug doggle into Mac ( without having to install drivers) and BT was running instantly. No buggering about, just worked.

It works no problem, when I log into my computer. Just when I disconnect, like when i go out............ try not sit infront of the computer all day!, then come back, i have re-start my computer to get sync with my phone. Not a big problem but its a pain in the neck.

P.S SP 2is not that bad conpared to the BT software i was using before, at least this consistently works, apart from all the restarts.

Amen to that! As a Mac user who's perfectly happy with his P900, my heart goes out to all Windows users.

@chewie169:

I believe you need to reconnect the phone from your PC.
To do this, open Properties on Phone Connection Link. Then de-select the two COM-ports associated with sync'ing your phone. Then select the incoming one of these ports, wait a few seconds, and then select the outgoing COM-port.

To find which COM-ports are associated with your phone, open "Bluetooth Devices" in Control Panel, select your phone, select the Tab about COM-ports, and make a note of which COM-port is outgoing, and which is incoming.

It is important that the incoming port is selected before the outgoing, because the outgoing will be telling the phone to "Phone Home", and the incoming port had better be listening when this happens...

Please tell if this works.

i got mine working by these very simple instructions! thanks for that. just to make it clear:

1. bond p900 with computer
2. make sure all boxes unticked in connection manager
3. check com ports to find incoming and outgoing port
4. tick incoming port first in connection manager - WAIT A FEW SECS
5. tick outgoing port
6. right click on connection manager icon in task bar and select "connect to a bluetooth phone"
7. DOUBLE click on the p900 in the bluetooth devices list
8. new phone connection manager launches and away you go

NOTE - i have Zone alarm and it asks for several programs to have permission, so watch out for them!

how bizarre

I had a thread on this for ages and noone else seemed to have the problem.. then i solved it and now this threads been created!

Your fix above is a workaround, if you get mPC Suite 3.0.0 you get an extra option in the taskbar which reconnects it.

Ive just installed SP2 myself and paired my p800 with windows bluetooth driver. I was using Widcomm driver before this.

Can anyone tell me how you create a bluetooth serial connection between p800 and pc in sp2? under Widcomm I right clicked the bt icon and selected quick connect but I cant work out how this is done under SP2 bt software.

Anyone?

It's been explained a few posts up... after setting up ports, right click "phone connection link" icon on the bottom right of your screen and choose "connect to a Bluetooth phone"...

Good luck!

Thanks for the info people... I was having trouble too, till I read this thread...
