K700i - Disappearing phone numbers from Contacts! |
PKblue Joined: Jul 07, 2004 Posts: 7 PM |
I am finding that sometimes a phone number will disappear from a contact for no reason. The name of the contact remains, but there are no longer any phone numbers for it. Why would this be happening ?! This is *really* frustrating and potentially a deal breaker !
Anyone else had this problem ?

excuse me, but I *did* search for this issue and nothing relevant came up under what I searched for. Obviously others have phrased their issue differently, so I guess I need to do a wider search.
It would have been kinder if someone had referred me to previous resolutions, or re-iterated what to do, but no matter, I shall wade through the database and try and find it. |

Yes - similar problem here - funny thing is -if you dial the "missing" number by entering the digits manually - when you look at the "calls" screen - the K700i has re-mapped the number to the contact. Lets see what happens after a firmware upgrade |

You with the dissapearing phonenumbers
- do you have branded or unbranded phones ?
Most issues with the K700 are related to operator brandings - therefore when posting issues - its allways good to also post if its an unbranded model or an operator branded model - just to get an overview of weather error/bug reports on specific issues should go to S//E or the operator.

My K700 has a different 'feature'
When you browse the address book, the same number will appear under several different names. But if you go in to edit the number, it shows the correct number |

It has been posted that the R2L firmware has fixed most of the reported bugs. Why don't you have the firmware upgraded and then maybe you could tell us if your specific issue has been addressed by the latest firmware.

This is my first SE phone, and i'm not sure where to go.
I've looked on the SE website but can't find a directory of SE service centres. How do i find the sevice centre closest to me? |

for some countries you can look at www.sonyericsson.com under 'dealer locator'
Otherwise your nearest phone store would know where to locate

if you find it hard to locating topics regarding your problem or should i say our problem regarding lost of phone numbers in the contacts folder. SE suggested to do a master reset of the phone, a software upgrade to R2L. That was the sollution they did to my k7 and it thanks to them, it worked. cheers.
are you on the list? |

lol! i am almost on first name terms with the guy at my local Sony Ericsson firmare upgrade centre went there for so many updates with the T68i - Perhaps the new firmware will remove the "minor" O2 branding - and give me back the snooze function on recurrent alarm too! |

so far after the r2l upgrade i dont have missing numbers anymore. however the i still experience contacts showing the same numbers. to solve what i did was to go to the contact, go to view & edit number then select the phone number and click edit then press ok then save... voila the right number will be shown! I just hope that it doesn't keep coming back so i do not have to keep repeating the tedious steps |
