Here is one suggestion that I believe all of you will agree.

Even though we have in our profile/preference the option "From" eg. mine is "From: Athens, Greece, Europe, Earth, Universe", I believe it would be nice to add the preference "Nationality" with all countries listed to choose from.

Since the "From" option has been misunderstood from almost everyone of us e.g " From:Home" or "From:A galaxy far away" etc. it will be better and more convinient for all of us to add this "Nationality" feature.

The reason for posting this is that after all this time am here to ESATO, I discovered only today "bacanito" is Greek but he is "From:Canada".

This is not the only case but also during the last two weeks several similar cases caught my attention.

I would like some feedback from all members. Remember we want to make ESATO better and better all the time but is up to Laffen and the ESATO team to make this available.

So please lets share our thoughts here.

the problem with profile fields is getting people to fill them in. A large number of profiles I look at have hardly anything filled in

I think the from field we have is sufficient for people who can be bothered to put something there to be as specific or humourous as they care to be although I do understand the occasional confusion of this field that you mention

@ energetic

I'm not greek man lol I live in Montreal Canada, and as you may know, there are a lot of greeks here, picked up several words here and there. But if there were a "Origin" or "Nationality", mine would say Colombia

But it's fun to say greek words from time to time, and it's especially fun looking @ greek girls...very pretty

Now here is another example of confusion with bacanito. So some elements or words made me think he is from Greece but look what happened.

You can all see the confusion here.

@batesie

Am not trying to put any nationality difference issue or anything.

I also know that we are all the same under the same sky and have the same blood colour.

The only reason I suggest this is to keep things in order.

energetic has a point...it all depends of how many people actually care to share that information for fellow esatonians (or esatorians? lol)

I, for one, don't mind @ all

I think it is a good idea, however the current layout is sufficient in my opinion. It all depends on the ppl how much they want to fill out.

In principal it is a good idea, but completely unpractical. The idea of knowing where other members come from is a good one as it would facilitate faster and easier solutions to problems related to specific countries e.g. where to find a service centre, where to find a particular stockist, etc As has been stated most people either don't fill their profiles fully or submit 'humorous' information; even if there were a list of countries to choose from I am sure that some bright sparks would choose a country other than the one they actually live in.
I suppose the nearest we have to targeting country specific issues, at the moment, are the individual threads for specific countries, although as many of you will know, Esatonians not from the country in question often post in that country’s thread anyway.

@scotsboyuk

so true about the threads from specific countries...very little participation in mine from fellow Canadians lol only like 2 or 3 different users!
