unfortunately these days in UK with the cost of fuel you are looking at £100/hr+ with instructor
when I learned in mid 80's at Redhill it was around £35-£40/hr
its quite a bit cheaper in Aus (since we don't get charged so much for fuel excise) and also cheaper in US too though there licence is not so respected in Aus or UK so you end up having to do quite a bit extra to convert

sounds like you're a beginner then if you're also doing ppl
also sounds like you're up for big bucks though mind you in Saudi its possibly cheaper since the largest cost of running an aircraft is the fuel
when I worked in Riyadh in the 80's we could fill a cadilac for around US!$20

yeah. flying is great fun but it does cost a packet
as I've said before it worries me when I think how much I've spent on flying since I got my PPL in mid 80's, especially when I hire twin engined aircraft now which cost £250/hr+ (yikes!)
to be honest, UK price just scare me so I do the minimum and wait till I'm back in Sydney to get some decent flying done

Hiya all,
I'm a glider pilot undergoing training at current for my gold wings (military) and linked to the RAF somewhat.
I fly non-engine aircraft out of a local grass airstrip near Bath (or RAF Lyneham, if you like). We launch via a "winch", where literally, the underside of the aircraft is attached to a steel cable and the opposite end wound up at an unbelievable rate, pulling the glider with it. We can go 0-60mph in less than 3 seconds, and airborne passing 80mph. A picture of a similar model to our aircraft is below:
Along with this, I'm also studying for an ATPL, which will allow me to fly commercial aircraft such as the 737, 757 and 767. This of course, will take time, and for the time being, I'm more than happy flying in warm air.
Ask questions if you wish, I'm open to them.

good luck with that
here is a warrior III pilots information manual with check lists and instrument panel etc etc
well worth a thorough read to get familiarised before heading to the aircraft

Ah yes, fuel is really cheap there, and it should take less than 20$!
I am doing my training in US and currently working for my cpl(just got IR and building 100+hrs atm).
Training in Saudi arabia would cost 2-3 times more than doing in Us.
Lol, I guess i never looked at this thread after my post
