Hi,
i found a lot of information about java applications not being able to get internet access on the T610. But it seems i have the same pb on my z600 (configured for wap and internet access by SFR (french operator)). When i try any app with internet requirements (browsers, IMs...) it ask me if i want to authorize wap access (shouldn't it be web access via the web apn?) and then when i say yes it stalls and nothing appen.
What should i do ?

z600 suffers from the same java shortfalls as the t610. the java engine operates in a "sandbox' environment, with very limited access to other phone functions.
i do not think it is possible to use a java app on z600 that requires web/wap access.

It's really lazy by SE not to implement sockets (network connections) properly. I understand and fully support the need for a sandbox, but this is no reason not to provide network functionality (you could just add a warning, something like: "The program blablabla wants to connect to the internet. This could mean you have to pay your service provider for the network traffic. [ALLOW] [BLOCK]".

Here's what i found:
you CAN access the web with the z600 in java applications (unlike the t610). BUT it seems most operator are misconfiguring the devices. Mine for example has the wap APN data connection with CID=1 and web APN with CID=3.
So the java app's are trying to use the connection with CID=1 and there's no way to change this behaviour. If u change your APN in the CID=1 connection u get internet access in java apps ! (tried web browser, im and others).
But there is a problem ! i can't totaly reconfigure the data connections by hand cause if i delete and switch the two (web and wap) i can't change my wap profile (locked by the operator probably) to tell it to use the new data connection. This way the wap browser is trying to use web apn (arggglll).
So for now, the only way (for me) is to change by hand the apn value each time i want web access in java !
Do u have a solution ??
