Hi guys,

I want to use my T230 and the DCU-11 cable for GPRS only. The T200 drivers are downloaded but is that all I need? Because the software that came with the DCU-11, which is actually the oficial SE software is driving me nuts. It just won't connect with the phone.

I'm sure the phone and the cable are good cause floAt's Mobile Agent could connect with the T230 and even upload pics and songs. Also, the (oficial) software worked (difficult) with K500i so I think it's installed properly.

So, the questions are:

1. What software do I need for GPRS besides the T200 drivers ? (Not interested in uploading files, sending SMS/MMS or anything else)

2. If I have to use the "Mobile Networking Wizard" how do I get it to connect with the T230 ?

You make a standard Dial-Up Internet Connection, and at the modem setup, you select SE T200 Serial Modem (or something like that). That's all. But GPRS settings must be obtained from you Mobile Service Provider.

I have an Ericsson T290i with DCU-11 data cable, and i want to run AT comands on the phone.

Connectig to the Phone throungh FMA , worked ok.

Q:
1. Are AT commands supported by this phone ? (taking in cosideration that the phone has a modem )

2. What are the parameters in Hypert Treminal used to conect to the phone's modem.

Thank you , and nice work bt the way 4 putting all tihis info up for the rest of us

I tried that. It says "Opening port.." and stays like that forever. Plus, what realy pisses me off, I have to reset my pc cause it won't re-start. I've tried many combinations with the settings, including the same settings used for the succesful k500 connection.

Like I said, T230 works with MobileFloatAgent, and it's also found in the modem query, so i guess I have a problem with the port and/or the way it's emulated.

Is there any other software that can create the dial up connection for me besides the one that came with the cable? Are Ericsson T39, T65 and T68 capable for GPRS?

Ingenius, or anyone else: can you tell me your exact settings for connecting to GPRS with T230?

I've tried these for the "Port Settings" in the USB Cable Properties:

BPS:9600, Data Bits: 6, Parity:Even, Stop Bits:1, Flow control:Xon/Xoff, Use FIFO (unchecked)

but I've also tried the defaults:

BPS:9600, Data Bits: 8, Parity:None, Stop Bits:1, Flow control:none, Use FIFO (unchecked)

And for the dial up connection:

Maximum speed:9600, Modem protocol:Analog RLP, Phone Number: *99***2# (where 2 is the CID for gprs, 1 is for MMS), Advanced Security settings, QoS Packet Scheduler installed...

Thanks a lot

Settings should be ok, only thing is maybe you set wrong COM Port in Modem setup...that "Opening port" shit usualy happens when wrong port is specified. Com Port must be the same that your cable has.

For my T230 modem in hardware panel:
Maximum port speed: 9600
I used thoso T200 drivers.

For my DCU-11 USB cable in hardware panel:
Com port 6 (but this is for my computer, you can set any com port number in this cable setup)
Bits per second: 9600
Parity: None
Data bits: 8
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: none

Thats it for the settings.

Then in Dial Up connection:

Connect using T230 GPRS Modem (Com 6)
Phone number: *99#

Thats all. If this doesnt work, supposed that you also set com 6, then you you must have done a failure installing modem driver, or maybe your cable or even worse, your phone is phucked up. This happened to my T230 also. Couldn't connect it to internet nor FMA. But you said FMA works...so....I hope I was any help at all.

The cable doesn't like T230. It's called DCU-11 but It's not Sony Ericsson, the driver for it was not SE either. It works with K500 though so I gave it to a friend of mine and he gave me his cheaper and not so famous PL-2303. Now I'm a happy camper:-)

Thank you all
