The 808 is an excellent cameraphone, in fact: the best, up until now. It's also a good smartphone, with HDMI, USB OtG, etc., but unfortunately, it's on a dead OS!
Of course the 808 itself isn't dead, it's still very much alive in the hands and hearts of its owners, but it's out of production (and out of most shops) and there won't be any new Symbian phones, nor any new apps for Symbian. Even some apps that once existed aren't available anymore. An uncle of mine wanted to reinstall his N8 after a reset and he couldn't find three of the apps he had been using for years, because they had disappeared from the Symbian store.
So all this comparing and looking back is a pointless waste of time, IMHO.
We have an 808, for over a year, my husband uses it most, because he takes more pics with his phone, than I do. We like it and we won't sell it, it deserves a place in our little collection, with N8, E7, N900 and the beautiful N9, all excellent phones on a dead OS. But we now both have a Lumia 920 in daily use and I'm certainly going to buy the Lumia 1020.

The OS isn't dead.. its kind of like in a.. zombie mode Sparkle 2 just came out for Symbian... I think we will still see new apps for Symbian, maybe not the American made mainstream stuff, but we will see apps from smaller developers for sure.
The 1020 is great.. if I didn't have an 808 I would probably go for it. |

I can see this device though having poor battery like the 920 did.

I have no probs with the battery of my 920, we have electricity at home and at work .
Both hubby and I have a wireless charging pad on our desk at work, on which the phone rests when not in use, so it's always charged.

I've also spotted the blue tint mentioned by Pocketnow. WB issues which hopefully would be correctly fixed before release. Not that I am buying it anyway.

I still can't believe that Nokia made Windows NT work with such complex camera tech.. this is the one and only such device running under this OS.. its the first of it's kind |

Apparently so I read wireless charging does charge the battery a bit slower. Am I right??

Have read something like that too, so it's probably true, never really noticed, nor bothered, tbh . When the phone is on the wireless charging pad at work, it's never empty, so I wouldn't know, how long a complete charge takes.
At home, we do as most people I know, and charge our phones during the night, so don't know how long that takes either. Only important thing is, that they're ready to go in the morning
