cu015170, by the amount of great noise and low detail (in full resolution), I am also thinking that 1020 uses Sony sensor !

Most people still want to believe que the 1020 will have better IQ than the 808 .. The Same behavior was Observed When the 920 was about to launch, but one look at the pics and it was obvious que is not the case.

Its The Same now, its just that the difference is smaller because the lens and the sensor are much, much better than the ones in the 920.

But the truth is one, even the Galaxy S 4 showed that the best photos of 1020, all photos of 1020 has unreal colors and packed with noise !

Understand all at once… 808 has a higher image sensor (bigger 56%), improved post processing (no noise) and more integrated microns per pixel… There is no chance for the 920 with 41 megapixels (mean 1020) !

Nobody wonders. We do wonder why you say you're never coming back but always do though.

I can see what everyone means by the image quality is lesser than the 808, but I think its just because the shots they've produced so far are just point and snap. Where as when in the hands of the user, we spend more time getting those quality shots from the camera.

Every single time we have this where any camera centric phone is released. Every single time. It gets very repetitious having the same conversation year in, year out.

Personally I like it. Will I get one ? im not sure yet.

Some of the images have very good sharpness toward the middle of the frame..

This:http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2877/9264385004_855360efaf_o.jpg

after a resize:

pretty impressive

But at the same time.. look at the bending buildings towards the end of the frame, no bueno..

I guess there's something wrong with the PureView algorithms this time round. Oversampled pictures don't seem to be much less noisy than unprocessed ones.

I find it extremely suspicious that Nokia hasn't provided a single HIGH-ISO shot until now.

I guess that they simply haven't got the SW finalized just yet.

That 4 sec exposure they have provided is pretty cr@ppy.

I don't like those soft spots spread all over the frame as well.

I think the 5Mpix distilled images will look pretty good, not as good as the 808.. but still better than anything else

Audio recording is the same as the 808.. great news

Bit rate : 256 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Channel positions : Front: L R
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz

For sure, great news !

In fact Lumia 1020 Pureview will be lower than the 808 Pureview photographically, but know that your camcorder will be better (ois + great audio quality), it is a great achievement !!!

Yes.. I still think the IQ during video will be worse on the 1020, but @ 2mpix (1080p) it shouldn't be visible at all.

I can say with confidence that the 1020 will be the best smartphone for video recording for a long time.

OIS, zooming, HAAC microphones, stereo recording... can't ask for more

AT&T site now also has the Battery Grip on pre-order for $59 (US) but seems to only come in Black or White.

especially some of them.. I don't understand why there is so much noise at 100 iso

unless this is zoomed in.. it shouldn't be that bad

The edges really suck, especially when there are a thousand of lenses stacked in that small sensor.
