Most of Honamis specs are great if they're on par with the Z Ultra. The only things I really hope we see are the xenon flash, IR blaster and that stylus input tech used in Z Ultra. Honami would be amazing! Even if the sensor is 1/2.3" it'll still be larger than any other normal Android phone and couple that with the new JPEG algorithm and BIONZ processing tech, it should be the best all around phone of the year.

... SO EXCITED

Whether or not the Honami's sensor size is 1/1.6 or 1/2.3, only came about because of the EXIF data from camera sample image files. The Honami has not even been released yet and that information could have come from a prototype Honami. As you all know, phone manufacturers often have several, if not many prototypes of their upcoming phone models and Sony is no different in this respect either.
Check this for the latest on the upcoming Sony phones for 2013: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AreyfktYnDHtdHN0bVFPdUFJd0ZiNzZQcjMwV1I5M0E#gid=0

Wait, so the Honami will now apparently have a 1/2.3" sensor? So where did the rumours of a 1/1.5" sensor even come from? If they never had such a sensor in production, where did anyone get any ideas of there actually being such a sensor.

Apart from zomg, there is no proof of 1/2.3" sensor. My source says 2/3" and so does Huiyi and SonyAlphaRumors's source. He posted a picture showing size difference between the camera sensor on Honami against Z, it only takes basic mathematical skills to figure out that it indicated a 1/1.5" sensor and NOT 1/2.3" by any chance.

Also this whole talk of existence/non existence of sensors is BS. Huiyi already clarified Honami uses an all new sensor and not a sensor used in other cameras.

In the early stages Honami was going to be equipped with a 1/2.0" sensor, later changed to 2/3". 1/2.3" was never even considered AFAIK.

Does it look like a 1/2.3" sensor on the left to ANYONE ???? 1/2.3" isn't THAT much bigger than 1/3"

Perhaps zomg is saying this to keep all rumors in check and avoid the 2/3" info spreading out much. Remember, until about a few weeks ago he denied the existence of any camera centric device whatsoever and claimed the 2H flagship will only have a 16MP Z size camera sensor.

People seem to have forgotten the render that me and reeflotz designed based on Huiyi and ramu's info. well I thought it was clear to us that the lens is virtually larger than ZL's so it suggests a larger module installed. I still question the leaked image on whether it is the "real" Honami or not since sources have conflicting infos over what seems to me, three (including the one maiaramdam saw) completely different devices.

I have no idea what the device will be, I hope for the best of course.

But it is apparent that Sony wants to build hype, so by giving out too much info too early is not the good way to do so.

Unfortunately the torture will go on and on until the end.

The post from adrian mentioned more info to come in the next few days, this is intriguing.

Also, let's keep in mind Kaz said the "best" "最強", at a time Nokia 808 already exists, so whatever the sensor size, be sure Sony is designing a device to compete with the best in each category.

Yes but the camera and ir blaster seems photoshopped to me, so I would say fake, also they seem to have tried to erase the previous logo to make it look real.

Exactly, it's still too early to conclude things we only read from here. there's still alot of possiblities, and we can't be sure what we have now on leaks may actually come from an old proto and the real thing is still kept secret. of course it's always good to keep our expectations low but we shouldn't forget what One Sony philosophy really means for the company especially with Honami which is supposed to be their first product "true to their nature" smartphone.

How is the 808 not a smartphone?
If the 808 is not a smartphone then nothing that runs Symbian is or was a smartphone.

The whole point of smartphones is to have a highly functional OS. OS is a prime criteria by which we distinct smartphones and regular phones. But, you can't say that merely having an OS is enough for a phone to be considered a smartphone. 808 is a phone with an (dead in water) OS, highly centered around it's camera feature (which was the whole point of developing such a phone in the first place).

808 should be considered as a smartphone if it was released 3 years ago, but now, standards for smartphones are considerably higher.

Are those really smartphones if they were to be released these days;

Anyway, this is my opinion and I elaborated it only because I wanted to explain the 808 controversy that I mentioned in the previous post. I don't wanna go off topic with this discussion so I will end it here.

I'm glad you said that is all your opinion, in reality the fact is you are wrong.

BTW, the G800 was never a smartphone.
