I'm not bothered about the clock speed etc. its more important that the software is optimised and even the Xperia Z seems to lag and stutter which is unacceptable. You shouldn't have to go for a custom ROM to get the phone running smoothly and bug free. I'm a Xperia P user and I have to deal with ICS lagging and this camera bug, its not acceptable at all and I'm really hoping that JB will sort it out because I love everything else about the phone. If Sony do an Apple and get lower spec'd devices running smoothly, they could sell the phone for less and start making some ground.

To get on topic more, people wouldn't mind about updates if the current software were smooth but I'm desperate for an improvement over my ICS. 2013 devices need a fresher UI, smooth and light. I'm finding Android quite dull now and transition effects won't make it newer. Give us some themes and designs that totally change the font, colours, homescreen etc. I don't want to download a launcher then look for suitable widgets. Sony will be able to sell a 20MP phone but make it a software experience like no other too.

Here's a link to a presentation of the big.LITTLE dev kit where you can see frequency scaling happening. Frequency is not fixed.

Anyway, we've definitely corrupted this thread enough. Back to topic I think.

You dont know what you are talking about mate. Fixed doesnt mean NO scaling at all. It means scaling happens with fixed values, nowhere does he state any different in your video. For Exynos Octa it goes like this:

Cortex A15 at 800 MHz with 0,9 volt > 1,6 GHz with 1,2 volt. Thats the only frequencies/voltages it can use. Thats fixed. Common sense alone should tell you that if they could use full DFVS and asynchronous scaling, they wouldnt need the Cortex A7s in the first place

Now i will stop hijacking the thread

Never mind, Sony already wasted it chance to stay ahead of competition (I'd say GS4).
It seem 4.2.2 ready to push before GS4 arrive but didn't manage it out due to silly politics.
Now it GS4 turn, and with those hefty marketing budget and eye-catching features.
The Z is in barely chance to escape from GS4's ultimate execution.

I hope it all wrong, just that!

Theoretically, when a camera sensor getting bigger , the distance between lens and sensor increase

Since Sony invented the translucent surface causing shrinking the SLR to have of its usual size

I think SONY would apply such principle to the upcoming Honami

IMO Sony should skip 4.2 and go to 4.3 or whatever the new version is called cuz when they finally get 4.2 out, the new version will be out and 4.2 will be old

-All new image processing algorithm, similar to Sony's Cyber-shot digital cameras
-Completely revamped camera UI, software goodies from Cyber-shot digital cameras of 2013
-Superior Auto Scene Recognition, an improvement over the Superior Auto mode found in the Xperia Z/ZL
-Sony 1/1.6" Exmor RS stacked sensor
-Sony Cybershot G Lens, glass lens, premium grade
-Sony is also working on an "Augmented Reality" app similar to Nokia's amazing City Lens.
Sony's Honami won't be slim, with our internal estimates at about 10 mm thickness. Those who were are expecting a phone smaller than the Xperia Z, be prepared to get disappointed.

Damn...all these please include in One Sony...

I'm interested in the size of the sensor vs the amount of MP they finally use in the camera of Homami,
Low light shots is a key improvement area.
The htc one uses a similiar sized sensor as the xperia Z but uses only 4 MP, much less than current flagships so the individual pixel size was larger for better low light shots.
Honami will have a much larger sensor so if they dont increase the MP proportionally and are more conservative about it the increase in pixel size should have a similar effect for letting more light in for low light shots.
I'm trying to figure out how much an effect it would have on pixel size in 20,16,13, and 8 MP.
