I've been using the 920 for 1 day, is a very good device, solid and sturdy, very fast moving between the menus.

Camera so far has been good, in daylight is similar like the Galaxy S3 imo, however in the night is a completely different world: the pureview + OIS really works, nice photos are amazing.

Bono your link goes to the mobile site version !? And it does not work very well with chrome on my pc.

fboise congrats for your 920. I saw your pics taken with it and it's too bad to have so blurry pics on daylight with a phone named pure view

pureview stands for OIS this time around... nothing to do with quality.

The original idea behind "pureview" was that the pixels are cleaner, noise free.. so they called them Pure. That is where the original idea came from.. during the development of the 808.

Now.. they decided to ride on the 808 wave, but I think it was a mistake.. I guess they want people to associate pureview with innovation, rather then image quality.

Here is one of the photos from fbloise, thanks for those btw!

There is nothing pure about the quality here... "blurview" might be more appropriate

If Pureview was apple's they will say I was holding it wrong or that the blurryness is "a feature".

But is true, I hope Nokia addresses this in future's updates.

The P&S camera industry is really lucky in wasn't apple who came up with the PV Pro tech... oh boy, if it was apple they would have been in deep trouble. Its a very powerful technological breakthrough .. I would go as far as its industry changing.

I told ya months ago not to expect anything special from the 920.. that tiny sensor.. can't really expect more than that.. well you could, but I don't think they can any better than what apple is offering with the ip5, which isn't really significant difference in overall performance.

Well the 920 night shots are good better than many other camera phones except the 808. I still think even most point and shoots are better than most phone cameras. Many phone cameras as far as I can see except a tiny few seem to be getting worse in quality

Well yes they are.. they are keeping the sensor sizes the same, but they keep bumping up the megapixel count just because the general public was "brainwashed" into thinking that more mpix = better image quality. Years, and years of marketing... it will be very hard to reverse the "megapixel war" trend.

Good thing they have BSI.. otherwise I don't know what they would have done.. FSI doesn't really allow for smaller than 1.4 micron pixels.. ya you can do it but it gets messy. Thanks to BSI they can even dip below 1.1 microns...

So watch the industry in the next 12 months.. we will se 12-14-16 Mpix cameras but the quality will deteriorate, or remain the same if we are lucky. That is if they keep the 1/3" "off the shelf" they've been using for a while now.. If they don't bump up the sensor size, or make a technological break in BSI tech ... there won't be any significant gains.

The iPhone 5 is the best using the 1/3" BSI - 1.4 micron/pixel formula.. at least during the day, as soon as the sun goes down everything is reviled.

Must say the battery has really improved over the last week, typically i have 80% left after 11h of usage. As you might imagine I don't use it to watch a lot of movies but i listen to music frequently. Mostly texts instead of calls as well.
But i am pleased with the performance.
One thing that bugs me is a squeaking sound that comes when i press the left side of the phone. I'm also skeptical to the strength of Gorilla glass, already got scratches. My old X10 never got any scratches
