I will always love you was a good version, as were most of the songs in The Bodyguard, but did you know it was written by Dolly Parton? I quite like her Country-style original version which she sang to Burt Reynolds in The Best little Whorehouse in Texas, though I've heard her sing it better elsewhere

Shocking, truely unexpected. R.I.P Whitney.
My mother loves her music and even has her most recent album, I Look To You.
My favourite song by her has to be My Love Is Your Love and there's one in the Bodyguard album, forgot its name.
Her and Bobby were a match made in heaven in terms of musical talent, but thats where it ended.

It's sad that a human being has died.... Am I any more sad than if it had been a talentless stranger No... All these Celebs/singers who get rich and have nothing better to spend their money on than Drugs or drink excessively are starting to annoy me...... They have a talent and then they ruing their lives and their families....
As for Bobby Brown.... Yes he has issues which have been reported many many times she knew what he was like and she still chose to be with him and take part in his activities, Which has led to her Downfall....

No I haven't but using her drug taking as an example..... I grew up in the "Rave Scene" where partying all weekend was the norm ecstasy LSD and various other drugs were here there and everywhere..... I and and thousands of others didn't take them and still enjoyed life..... It's about choice, she had lots of family and advisors around her who could help her and she chose to to do Drugs etc...... Personally I think it's selfish..

I understand where you're coming from but your previous post comes across more as a prejudice against successful people and indeed it attempts to stereotype them rather than have an understanding of human frailty and limitation, and your last post suggests it was not her failing, but that of her friends and family.

I always saw pyschology like the weather... very hard to predict and understand, but I've since learned that actually there are definitely people that follow set patterns, and where love and relationships come into play that is moreso true, unfortunately.

I am all for people being successful whether it's in the public eye or not..... We all have goals and ambitions..... It just annoys me when people mourn the stars when this happens but wouldn't give a second thought if they read a news paper article about an unknown who died in a squat in London...

again I agree, but again this is simply human nature.

we connect much more with people who have affected our lives, be it by music, art, literature, politics, or whatever and so the impact is clearly going to be stronger than some previously unknown person(s) who have died by some unfortunate circumstance.

Anyway, it now sounds like she may have been taking prescribed drugs that made her very sleepy such that she drowned in the bath. There will be an autopsy later today or tomorrow to confirm.

There is also plenty of big stars who never have any problems like this & breeze through their fame. It's just certain people who either does not handle fame well or has private life problems. Many big stars also seem to blow their money on crap maybe they are lonely on the road touring. They say it's often lonely at the top. I don't know the full story of Whitney but I do know alot of domestic abuse was involved with her time with Bobby Brown. Even though they were long split up it may still have been affecting her in ways we don't know.

Strange I was just reading at my brother's work place yesterday's Daily Mirror paper. It showed Whitney Houston the night before she died out in LA partying and they said she looked terrible.

I'd like to know what Bobby Browne has to say now since he is responsible in many ways for what's happened to Whitney.
