I e-mailed the SE-Support here in germany and asked, if it is true, that there will be no further
updates for the Satio.
The answer:

Die Entwicklung neuer Updates für das Sony Ericsson Satio wurde nicht eingestellt.
Eine Auflistung der in den einzelnen Softwareversionen geänderten Eigenschaften bzw. eine Information zum Zeitpunkt der Bereitstellung liegt uns leider nicht vor und wird nicht veröffentlicht. Grundlegend bestehen die Veränderung jedoch im Regelfall aus Optimierungen des Betriebssystemes. Merkliche Veränderungen bzw. ein Hinzufügen von neuen Funktionen gibt es in diesem Zusammenhang nicht.

still we have to press them from behind, to make this crap phone king. Or maybe someone will port android it. That would be best. But the problem is it doenst support multi touch.
Kinetic scrolling is a MUST! and improved media search. But the #1 is the kinetic scrolling!
F**ing idiot SE support. Stick your products in your ass! The hell will buy another SE phone. Dumb company. WRITE YOUR OPINION ON THAT DEVELOPING CENTER GUYS, LET THEM KNOW WE ARE NOT HAPPY AT ALL. WTF, this line really troubled me. No noticable changes or new functions will be added to the new update. THEN WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY TAKING SO LONG TO UPDATE FOR!? Is the Satio development team just sitting back, watching porn and eating cheetos all day? |

i'll give SE approx 3months to fix issues with satio and make me happy....or i will leave SE and buy something else...
i'm tired of buying SE "high" end mobiles and try to argue with all the collegues that have iphone.....htc tec..that SE is top notch.. well obviuosly not anymore...  |

A small update only means some unnoticeable bug fixes. That's all SE would do from now on. I'd rather not update and go through the hacking procedure again if that's the case. |

yes this phone is "top notch" in theory. Practically its a piece of shit 5800 with a 12 megapixel mediocre camera, that costs a liver. I have a very happy Nokia fanboy at work and he always says SE is shit, buy nokia (just to piss me off). My schooolmates also all have Nokia (pretty nokia-ish country) and all are blinded by nokia here. Then how the F can i open theyr eyes with SE if theyr top notch flagship super duper Uber phone is a piece of crap? I cant impress anyone, but i wont do it ever again. F SE! no more SE for me. 3 months time limit to give us something special or i will not buy another SE phone in my life. Here comes the apple 4G, the N8, new samsungs, HTC, i have phones to choose from. Will sell this phone or trade it for a PS3. No cool animations, no speedy interface, hard to set a ringtone, unorganized media (no search function), shit camera software and laggy video, etc. Then tell me why should i keep it? Today i touched a 100$ 5230 and it was so easy to navigate (only the navigation part, it was very well done, kinetic wverywhere). Not to mention i have to carry special headphones to listen to music because of non standard jack. This phone sucks. And battery life... i dont know what you guys are talking about, but i can drain mine in 4 hours of net and games and movies. 1000 miliA battery is . So bottom line is i cant show off my sation vs a 5230 nokia. Is that normal? top phone vs mediocre nokia and i cant show anything special.

After the P990 experience I have HTC TD2. SE abondoned P990 with a lot of problems still remaining. I did not dare to upgrade P990 with the final upgrade provided as some more bugs were added. I called the SE ROM "bugware" with good reason.
TD2 battery is not that good but I got two major ROM upgades within few months - each one better than the earlier version. It was despite the fact that there was no major bug issues with previous versions. One major feature of SE phones I am still missing in TD2 is "Edit before call". It is still not included in the current version though third party program can provide this feature with less convenience. |
