I'm experiencing something that started like a month ago right after I downloaded some updates. The issue is that when I'm viewing images, with the windows image viewer(or whatever it's called in english), the image along with the background is a bit orange-ish.
I had the same problem but fortunately I've found the solution for the problem.
My Monitor is Samsung 22". If install an update for my monitor via windows update where it's located under optional category then this problem occurred.
So don't install any update for your monitor.

AV packages - audio video packages?
Use K-Lite Mega Codec Pack v5.8.3 (Media Player Classic Home Cinema)
The KM Player to watch the video.

If you mean Anti Virus then I use Kaspersky CBE Win 7. Its free and works well.

Do kaspersky do a free anti-virus?, my desktop has norton security suite & my laptop has the avira free version.

According to last report; Norton is better than kaspersky. (PCWorld.com)
By the way I'm waiting for the first service pack of Seven.

I use full AVG got it cheap & I never have had any problems at all. The free one is no good

I was offered Norton 360 and MS Office 2010 with my pc but I thought no thanks

Theres loads of widgets avaible, some are useless and drain alot of ram and cpu, i have a clock, cpu/ram usage moniter, hardisk usage moniter, network data usage moniter , and the weather.
