And don't forget you can get it even louder using the Volume Boost mod from Cydia in the iClarified repo. If I am playing a song in one room and I set my Volume to 2 bars, I can heat it in the next room.

Indeed but lets not get ahead of ourselves here. We have to presume @vegetaleb will be using it unjailbroken/standardised

vegetaleb,
the price for the used 3g is 500 usd? Perhaps you can get a brand new one for that price, itīs pricey. Have you considered buying one from a carrier?
About the 3Gīs battery. Itīs easier to replace because of the accessible screws on the bottom and the fact that the battery is not soldered as it used to be. However, you still CAN NOT do it yourself, you will lose warranty.

The battery in both iPhone's is NOT user replaceable.

The first-gen iPhone has its battery soldered to the circuit board. The iPhone 3G battery is not soldered to the circuit board but is still not user replaceable.

However it makes no difference that the battery isn't user replaceable. as I said, i used a first-gen model for 15 months from US launch and then moved onto a 3G model. Not being able to replace the battery hasn't made the slightest bit of difference to me.

I live in a country(Lebanon) where we don't have official iphones so no warranty at all!!
A brand new 3G costs here 700$ at best deal
The price of 500$ can be negotiable because it's used,so you must say I can get it down to 450$
I know that some people are buying 3G phones in Europe for only 200 euros and brand new(don't ask me how, stolen shipment?)
