This is something I'm experiencing on all my A200 platform phones. Namely my 2 K850's, 3 W910's, 2 C902's and a W890.

The bluetooth headsets I'm using are the HBH-GV435, HBH-PV712 and the HBH-DS220.

Basically. On all but the DS220. While making or receiving a call. After a few minutes. The headset would disconnect and the phone would automacially mute it's mic and after 30 seconds show a prompt asking to continue the call via the phone.
By this time the other person has ended the call.

Using the K850 the headsets disconnect after 30 minutes.
Using the C902's and the W890 the headsets disconnect after 3.46 minutes.
Using the W910's the headsets disconnect after 13.12 minutes.

All the phones are sim free and are not network branded. They all are running the latest software.

This problem doesn't happen using the DS220. It only happens using the GV435 and the PV712

The headsets worked fine with my other A100 platform and Symbian handsets (K800, K810, T650, P1i, W960) and never disconnect at all.

This problem is really annoying.

Anyone else had this problem ? It doesn't look to be tied down to a particular model phone. Just the software platform and I can't see it being the headsets at fault when they work fine with the A100 and Symbian platform phones that I have.

I use a HBH-PV705 with my V640i and have no issues, though my calls would seldom last 13:12s let alone 30mins.

Then it seems that this is some kind of bug... Try updating your phone firmware to see if it gets fixed...

@zakt72
you aren't the only Merc owner with issues. Check this thread:

Thanks for replying.There also seems to be a problem with the SEAT/VW in car bluetooth.Tried my C902 on a friends 2008 VW Passat and again it would randomly disconnect when making or receiving a call.I've emailed SE about this and am now waiting for a call reply.Probably be something like send your phone to us or update the software (even though they all have the latest software installed) It's getting quite annoying especially when its their own accessories having problems as well as non SE accessories.

Still no reply from about this.

Just wondering if anyone can do a test for me. In your bluetooth settings. Turn the powersave to On and make a call through your headset.

I've just tested this with my C902 and my HBH-PV712 headset stayed connected for 15 minutes which is when I ended the call myself.

Only problem is that you cannot have more than one bluetooth device connected at a time

I always have Powersave mode off. While I have no problems with Handsfree and Headset profiles, I do seem to have ongoing problems when using my V640i as a BT Modem.

It connects to my computer fine and will stay connected to MPE via BT with no problem. But connect the computer to the internet and the BT connection becomes unstable and disconnects from the computer, sometimes in a couple of minutes, sometimes up to 30mins. This is my second V640i handset, the first had the same problem which also extended to the USB cable. I substituted known-good cables and still the same problem.

It stikes me as a firmware problem, perhaps these two BT issues could be related?

That certainly does sound related.

@carkitter
Try enabling Powersave and see what happens. Also try associating the bluetooth accessory with whichever profile your using and see if that works (with Powersave turned off)

Okay, been connected for over 1/2hr tonight via BT modem with Powersave on and no instability yet. I'll keep experimenting with it over the next few days. I hope it comes right 'cause I much prefer BT to USB.

Deffo a related problem then. Cheers for getting back with your findings matey

Looks like the A200 has Bluetooth compatibility issues and it seems that turning on Powersave resolves the problem.

No, its not resolved here. Modem disconnected at 50mins, 55mins & 56mins.

When I can next bear to part with the V640i I'll send it in for inspection again. The modem is working ok via USB on this one at least.

Its lasted longer though which is a slight result. I'm gonna send another email to and link to this thread as I've still not had reply.
