K500: fix joystick or throw phone away. But how? |

I know, I know... old issue but still I have unable to find specific fixes that can be done at home to fix this problem.
I love this phone. I don't need Bluetooth or *anything* else really (well I'd like storage for more than about 100ish SMS and the ability to send SMSs automatically at a certain time (like a VCR can be set to record) like an old Nokia I had but...).
Anyhooo....
It's come to this: fix the phone and use it for another few years or toss it out. I hate tossing things out for little stupid issues like this (more for waste reasons rather than cost).
So help me rescue her please someone It's nice to be able to own something that lasts more than 5 years, to me. Like an old friend.
YES, I probably take things a bit too far with material objects but I hate the throwaway society we live in.
So anyway, any tips for fixing the joystick? Thanks for any help! |

Hi BobaFett,
I've seen lots of threads like that and have opened the phone several times already (and it looks like it's been through war ) but there doesn't seem to be a procedure for the user to clean it listed anywhere properly, which I find baffling. I've tried with varying levels of success but it's never like it was when it was new.
Does anybody know a sure-fire way (cleaning or otherwise) to restore complete functionality of the joystick on a wonky one?
