The joystick of the k500i |

The joystick of my k500i isnt good anymore after 3weeks. If i give it back to repair to the shop then it will takes about a month to get the phone back. Can i do something about this joystick problem.

A month? What are they doing for so long? Are they starting to built a new new joystick and have now started to the store to buy a plastic? If it is ok with you, open up the phone and clean it. Then it will work ok. Btw, welcome to esato.

Hi mate,welcome to esato.It's a problem common to both the k5/700.Unfortunately the joysticks on both of these models are cheap and nasty.You can repair the joystick yourself or get it changed through a service centre..But either way,you're gonna have duplicate problems until the day u decide to get rid.My advice get it sold,never buy a k5/7 again...And never look back.That's what i did...And what a good decision it was.

So is this joystick a major fault in KXXX series phones ? Bcos i am thinking of getting one instead of a T630 |

It is not as big as the nut case mentioned. It does play up, initially you will feel it is faulty, but then you will know how to use it.

Yup. Got your pm. After removing the batt cover, you will see 4 clips, push it side ways and the front facia will come off. You will now have access to joystick.

@govi: So how will you rate your experience with k500i ... what is the latest firmware for it? Like someone has said that newer f/w of k700i supports multi - character phonebook search |

Yup. I'm on R2ae, multi char search available. Nice batt life. 2 to 3 days without gprs.
