i wasnt talking of average joe, i was talking of myself and my points... if sy only wanna install games on the fone, thats up to him. i have plenty of useful apps, which make my life easier and better, cos it serves me well. of course u can compare everything, if u want to, even /// t39 with p1, but i this comparisons are pointless imo, cos the taste is really individual and everbody should get it, what fits the vest her/his needs.

next to it, the office fatures are pretty good in the symbian os fones, of course its not a wm level, but not that bad imo. for the the symbian os is brill, u have anothet point on it and that shows, that comparisons are interesting to read, but thats all, cos what fits my life so great, would make your only "harder"

it's not a toy, it's beauty, N81 looked toyish compared to W910(especially in black/Havana Gold)

might be, but dont forget, that w910 has got a more "simple" os then n81. however i ahve to admit, that the latest symbian os fones are pretty fastcompared to the older ones, especially the e series fones

Well, that's really the biggest advantage, isn't it? The OS, I mean. Comparing a smart phone with a feature phone in terms of the OS isn't fair. Looking at the specs, these phones are very much alike.

@Mizzle

This is ridiculous. Ignoring the smartphone capability of the N81 when comparing to W910 is also not fair either. You also forgot that N81 has wifi, standard ports and of course gaming platform which make h*ll a lot of difference to some people.

Lets see
N81 has:
WiFi b/g
Dedicated music keys
Touchsensetive navi wheel
369mhz CPU
Ngage
A FULL SAFARI WEB BROWSER
A colourful 16M screen
A DAC-33 chip (best in sound)
3D stereo speakers
Symbian OS 9.2 s60v3.1
3.5mm jack BUILT IN
And its an Nseries.
W910 has:
Java
Aww cute shake control
Hsdpa but wait that realy doesnt make much of a diff these days to 3G!
And uhmm WOW thats it, so much for a "Music Phone".

Oh and by the way to the SE fanboy club that is still stuck on saying the symbian OS is slow cause they only tested a N70 i say MOVE ON AND GET OVER IT!! The N81 is seriously fast DOZENS of reviews say that I Say that, they even say its on par with your "dumb phones" so quit living in the past!
Anyway N81 is better than W910 case closed.

imo:

What Nokia should learn from SE:

-to make more lipsticks on it's phones (especially the UI, since they're still used to popping up icons in their S60s while iPhone, HTC's TouchFLO and UIQ 3 already have that. but it is expected to have menu animations on S60 3.2(hopefully and expectedly)

-A better equipped music players on their music enabled phones

What SE should learn from Nokia:

-more features in one(they're used to it before, then suddenly miles flint came and diversified the portfolio, hope dicky would redefine the SE's all-in-one trademark)

-PC softwares

The menu animations on UIQ3 make both the P1 and W960 lag, if anyone remembers, late last year i got to play with both before W960 release. Had to turn off the Transitions, IMO not many Nokia s60 users give about animated icons, maybe my 12yearold lil brother would but his got a W300i.

W910
99 x 50 x 12.5 mm, 86 g, 2.4 inches

N81
102 x 50 x 17.9 mm, 140 g, 2.4 inches

Definetely Nokia could learn from SE to make a lean and trim machine 140gr is no joke especially for a same screen size, a N95 8GB with 2.8" is slightly lighter

UI on SE W910 is not laggy unlike symbian despite faster processor. So I can understand why some people like SE and some like Nokia. Both on its own.

yes but that's a different case, especially when considering the fact that UIQ 3's still experiences worse memory leaks than S60 and the mere fact that Nokia phones apply faster processing(thaks to it's fast CPUs) don't we think it would make S60 lag too much just look at iPhone and iTouch whereas they both utilizes a performance heavy OS and they don't suffer from any lags at all iTouch has 400Mhz and Nokia's phone with the fastest CPU, 6120/5700 has 369Mhz, i don't think such a 31Mhz slower in Nokia would make at least the 6120 or 5700 lag when using at least the menu trantitions(which is not as graphics heavy as iPhone's or iTouch's or even the HTC's TouchFLOs(HTC touch has only 200Mhz CPU! )

The N81 is heavier due to the weight of the 3 Sound chips including the DAC-33. Remember N91 was also heavy due to the same chip but it was a larger chip and it was only one chip and the HDD.
The N81 like i said is fast and on par with "dumbphones" like W910 so quit saying its slow this has been mentioned so many times, obviously SE fanboys would rather live in the past.
