dead K850 touchscreen |

Hi There,
My K850 touchscreen completely died, it is not responsive at all to any key presses no matter how light or heavy the pressure is. Does anyone else run into this problem, and how was it fixed? I took it back to the store, and they kind of put some more pressure on it, which fixed it for a bit, but then it broke again. So frustrating!

maybe he did mean touchscreen.. that's probably why it don't work so well. Try aiming for the 3 white lines only, not the screen
unless the touch pads really died

common problem with K850i |

Sorry I meant the touchpad. Normally I get pretty good accuracy with it, but one day it just completely stopped working. Well at least I now know that you can press "1" or "2" to get past the flight or phone mode menu. After that your phone is pretty much limited to dialing and answering.
How common exactly is the problem? Does anyone know exactly what parts are needed so when this happens again I can fix it myself (especially after the warranty expires) |

Well - I thought its because I dropped my K850i down Seven Lethaby's at Uni lol - and they are Stone Steps lol!
Anyways, Orange replaced mine with no issues - and its a Luminous Green one - Which Orange dont even sell??!? (Orange UK Only sell the Velvet Blue one, taken using a T650i).
Anyways - contact your network, they should replace it - if they are as nice as Orange - if not, get your Proof of Purchase and take it back to Sony Ericsson!
Good Luck, and I Hope it gets Fixed

As posted in the other thread that was linked a couple of posts above me, my touchscreen stopped working and was taken for repair by o2. When I recieved it back, it was working again but only when it felt like it so it went back to o2 who have now replaced it (going to pick it up today). Fair play to o2 for replacing it after the initial repair failed.
However, I want to get rid of the damn thing as it's been the worse SE phone I have ever owned so it looks like it's going to be off to Nokia for me.
Shame seeing as I've had a J7, K700i, K750i & K800i so been a long time SE fan, but the k850i is such a poor phone on so many levels that I can't face it to use it again! |
