It's a interesting phone but SE always must complicate thing.
The exactly the same phone without a flip would be a hit,
this way is more costly and don't bring much.

Considering colors, SE lately also bring bad combination of color
of their latest phones, the best color combination was the white one
and is seems that will not be producing

both S and E have experience with flips.
Still the place of the speaker bothers me, its on the backside right behind the flip mecanisme.
lets just wait untill they finally lauch it.

I like that phone, something different this time. Really low end meaning cheap (looks good in real life i think (from videos)) but i think that it should have the yes/no buttons that new SE phones have (and the three softkey layout(secondary)).

SE is now going to be able to produce lots of kit using the old, cheap, platform. I'm sure a non-flip version will follow at some point.

We downloaded the Hi-res images today and the blue one looks SO cheap and tacky. Sure, it will be cheap but there's no excuse for tacky.

Of course, a rendered image isn't the same as the real thing but I am not sure SE has got it quite right, even though we could see a move back towards flip phones for the 'retro' factor. Flip phones were very, VERY, popular in their day so why hasn't anyone tried to return to the form factor?

wait untill its out before you can call it cheapish. featurewise i already agree, but maby in real life it can look better.

I think laffen likes this phone aswell, its on the mainpage of esato. The old ericsson spirit revived all due to a flipphone in iceblue

We're only 8 days into the new year, and we're already seeing a new phone with integrated GPS and tri-band 3G/HSDPA.

The really cool stuff will surely be held until GSMA/3GSM/Mobile World Congress, the second week of February. If SE is like previous years, they'll announce kit a week or so before.

So, let's give them the benefit of the doubt for one more month!!

wow this is so revoultionary for the mobile buisness, nokia willpiss itself.
se comprimise way to much, by the time they make a n95 competitor, it will still be of the mark, it will be way more expensive then n95, and nokia will make a succsesor. great se..... just great.

Who cares what Nokia thinks? Does each manufacturer see a new phone and then think "Oh no, they've done this" and release something the next day. Some models can take a year to develop and release (but once the platform is built, it's quick to release new ones).

SE was slow with their new platform, but now it's here it won't take long to release more. And, they don't (neither do Nokia etc) release phones on any old day; they time things for big events or when operators want kit.

In the UK, most people now sign 18 month contracts so they're not seeing a phone released today and buying it tomorrow (and no pedantic comments to say a phone wouldn't be released that quick).

GPS was a big problem for Nokia, and it took a while until that was fixed. I don't they stole that big a lead on it. SE still has the superior media player and camera interface, so it isn't just hardware.

Oh, and apart from 2007 (which is what a lot of people like myself are moaning about), look at how far ahead SE has generally been since 2001. In fact, they were ahead of the game in the old Ericsson days too, from mobile data to starting the development of Bluetooth in 2000 and getting other companies to sign up.
