looks really cheap imo... never liked prada, they just made an upgrade with a cam imo
why cheap? because of materials or finish? honestly when i have a N95 in my fingers i find it cheap...but the price shows different. |

Whats the point of 120FPS video? My eye wont notice any change after 25FPS.
People with epilepsy can distinguish flicker rates up to 59 Hz so maybe this is a marketing move by LG to broaden the customer base, similar to what i-mobile did to attract people with hearing-problems by giving the 902 extremely loud ring tones
Incidently the frame rates supported by the KU990 are 120fps at QVGA and 30fps at VGA.

ive not used a LG mobile yet are they easy to use or do they have there moments
Believe me miss uk, LG is the most user friendly phone I have ever seen. I know this from experience. But as for the viewty, I like the brilliant concept and design. I hate the way it looks however. This phone is not eye catching.

It does look so simple in front. It indeed looks like a calculator.

how can the front look simple lol
its a huge screen. Whatever is on the front screen defines how simple the screen is not the phone |

I'd be interested to hear about anyone who has had hands on with this LG. Reading around today I hear that stock is starting to come to o2 and 3 stores. After some of the negative things I've read about the camera of the K850i it would be interesting to hear / see some hands on of the Viewty. Right now I cant decide between the two, there seems to be little direct, image for image, comparison. Anybody? |

I got the KU990 Viewty and I must say it rocks, build quality is awesome, metal and soft touch plastics, great touch screen, even more touch functions than the Prada phone.
Its HPDSA / 3G, GSM,
I'll post a review shortly

Nice one David....
I popped into o2 store today on the off chance i could just play around. Directly compared the Viewty with the K850i (my primary concern is photo / image quality). After a long time playing around with both, by both myself and the sales dude, I walked away with the Viewty - with the 14day swap at the forefront of my mind if i didn't like it.
The camera settings are impressive on paper, but I've found it hard to get good shots out of it so far. Although its the evening, and indoor lighting also not the best - plus learning the settings and stuff - I feel like this is more digital camera than phone with all these settings to consider. I have had one really reallly nice photo, very sharp, great colour rep etc, think i may have been using the manual focus for that too.
Will be good to hear others experiences - I'll keep posted on my final decision (Viewty vs K850i) - I've got 13 days to decide and counting! haha |

HI, whats your firmware version? |
Jaffro Joined: May 30, 2005 Posts: 25 PM |
the software version on mine is V10c, is that what you mean? or is there perhaps a good way of getting to extra phone info on these LG's - im no where near up to speed on how this brand works.
Probably going to swap back to the trusty SE soon. Cant turn off the camera sound effects - I'm off travelling and don't want these drawing attention to such a great phone, im assuming as my k750i could shut up that the 850i will too. |
