hi lisa,
i downloaded the app, and i sent it to my p990
wen i click on it to install it, it says" the package uses a protected UID" continue, the wen i hit continue nithing happens?
what i am doin wrong or not doin at all?
is there something to do with signing it?? how to do tat??
please help!

Because you have not signed it. You need to sign it BEFORE installing it. To do so, follow the instructions per the link below or run a search on Google.

See the info on signing a few posts earlier. We are truly sorry for not being able to distribute the program in an immediate installable state. This is the consequence of a policy by Symbian and SE that we can not currently fulfill. (Called Symbian Signed.)

Since it's a freeware program, can't you sign it with a freeware certificate? It's free, you know.  (Not time-free, though...)

Look, writing the app took about three hours and we could release it immediately. Getting it signed would take several weeks - enough time for SE to fix it (if they want).

As far as SE thinks it has earned enough with its bugware why bother to fix? |

Excellent job Lisa and team! I'm sure many P990 owners will be delighted with it. I am not really bothered by the "Space Bar Bug" as I never use it. But it's reassuring to know that there's a fix for it. Thanks you for your time and dedication CPS!
PS: The signing process seems lengthy and hard but it is actually straight forward and one should not shy away from it. Takes about 10 minutes. Give it a whirl folks! |
