We have released a small utility, called CellPhone Space, to allow long-pressing the Space key for invoking the phone dialer. The purpose of this free program is to overcome a bug introduced in the P990 R6D23 firmware.

CellPhone Space is available from the My-Symbian forum. Note that the distributed file needs signing with a developer certificate before use.

Update: The P990 firmware R6E28 fixes the space bar bug, so when using that firmware, the CellPhone Space application is not needed any more.

That's very innovative from you.
One thing is, is self-signing easy to do? cause i don't have idea about it.
i tried installing without but it said something about protected uid.

Thanks again

Thanks masseur Regarding how to sign, it is done the same way as in the case of SMan/UIQ3. Search for existing info on esato or My-Symbian, or see symbiansigned.com for full details.

It's honoring you ask that, but probably it can not be done as the problem looks as buried somewhere inside the Messaging app that we can not affect from outside. The developer says he rather pays a beer
