Hi

All seems fine with the phone after update but the two games are missing. Is is this to be expected or did the final format disk and master reset erase them ?

Anyone know how to get them back please ?
Thanks

I did a full backup of my phone when I first received it - is it possible to restore just the 3rd party applications (PCSuite indicates you can) I wonder if this would do the trick or am I best to just re-SEUS ?

?

this what happens if you do a master reset/format disk...you can still install the 2 games...you just have to look at it somewhere...hope this helps

Hi guys,
This is as detail as i can be.

4) format internal drive
5) master reset
6) take out simcard
7) replace battery

hi guys..i have a question.. can steps 4,5 not be taken into consideration? since the sim card that i have will be rejected by phone since it is locked!! so how am i supposed to format and perform master reset if there is no compartible simcard (probably) in order to activate the phone..

to avoid any misunderstanings..the phone is not stolen or anything like that..i bought it from ebay.co.uk and i was told that it was an unwanted upgrade for the seller who informed me as well that it is locked (to vodafone i think-if it is so i may find vodafone simcard here in greece but in case i won't what happens..?)

nikolasr200, using KK does NOT unlock the phone. So even if you did get a Vodafone SIM to format the phone, it would still be locked to Vodafone afterwards.

Nowhere on this thread or on the KK website does it say you can Unlock your phone.
The only ways at the moment are paying the network for the code (£20), or using the SETool (£100 for the hardware)

My understanding (I don't really want to try this as I've already got World Generic 1 ) is that you updated your phone so you have the firmware files on your pc, then replace the files in C:\\Program Files\\Sony Ericsson\\Update Service\\db\\13740270\\blob_fs with the ones from this rar file. Update the phone again which should add the World Generic 1 CDA line, then update once more to remove the old CDA and just have the new one Someone willing to try it and let us all know? If not I might borrow a friends and try it on theres!

I did it and it worked fine for me.

My phone was branded on O2 previously 162008/6
and now its the world generic 162007/1

It was a bit of a risk trying but I figured if it goes wrong just simply change the files back and do a reflash.

By the way
you don't just replace the files, you find the file that is 3xx bytes and the one that is 4xx bytes (there should only be two files) cut and paste them in a seperate folder called original.

Then you rename the downloaded files with the same name as the previous ones making sure that the file that is 3xx is the same name as the downloaded 3xx file (can't remember the size, I'm explaining from memory). place the newly named file into the blob_fs folder and hey presto your ready to update.

Make sure you back up personal details before flashing (most probably externally as opposed to using the back up facility(yknow bugs n stuff))

Whose brave enough to try it??? give feedback.
