Not to bad I take it, LG and Samsung are electronics companys just like Sony, Sony being the premium brand between the 3.
So they stand a better chance maybe, and they can take out Moto easy.

one question that came up to my mind is: will south korea have as good and stylish phones as the japan market?

@tranced

It will be VERY competitive as the South Koreans are very technologically advanced compared to most markets. Mobile TV is already established there for example and a 10mp cameraphone has already been produced.

I would expect even better handsets for the Korean market.

15MP?

I don't think a 15mp phone would appear, even 5mp is more than enough for most people although who knows what a tech-race would bring.

mobile phones are starting to eat digital camera marketshare.

i wonder if the invetor of a the phone ever thought he's invention would grow out to such a mass media device that everybody wants.
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA

Are koreans so loyal to the own brands that no other brand can hit the market?

@boba

Well thats the way it looks. Its been dominated by the big two for a while - not just in phones but in consumer electonics.

Samsung and LG are both Korean and make a lot more than just mobiles so brand loyalty would be strong but then I suppose it would be like Sony Ericsson attempting to break Nokia's dominance of the Norwegian market.

It's almost impossible for SE to break their (samsung and LG) stranglehold. If they manage to even get 3 percent market share it would be an achievement.

And I don't seem to remember LG or Samsung making any noticeable headway in the Japanese market so it will be interesting to see the outcome of this assault on the Korean market by
