Hi i'm new to the forum and thought i'd say that i ordered the p990i today on orange as an upgrade. I was due an upgrade and had the k800i which i sent back after 2 days as i didnt think it was any different from my w800i.
So i decided to get the p990i and i managed to get it for free and reduced my line rental by £10 and also increased my minutes....top deal if i do say so myself. |

Anyone care to post some pictures of their new Orange P990i showing the branding? |

It has the Orange bar menu on the home screen as well as the Orange menu icons in the infamous grey/orange as per the V3 if anyone remembers that?
Incidentally I asked if it was available for upgrades, was told it was for new connections only until tuesday. They had 20, called this morning and so far this weekend sold 0!!!! Whats the point trying to keep them exclusive if you can sell any! LOL

I now have my phone, on an upgrade. It did cost me GBP 49.95, though. Pretty annoyed about that, seeing as the last phone I had was the P900. Neither the shop nor disconnections would budge on the price.
I'm liking the phone, although I've no idea how heavily customised it is as I've not seen a non-customised version. I'll post some pictures later today. |

@mlittle
Could you please do the following:
1. Restart the phone
2. Wait 5 minutes (no operations)
3. In flip cloised mode select More>Status
Please tell us the amount of RAM and the Organiser/Phone/Bluetooth/etc version numbers from the Status report. Thanks

I've already removed the flip (it was the first thing I did). Can I get the same info without it, or do I need to put it back on? |

The branding is absolutely crap. About to play with an unbranded P990, so will be able to post more soon.
So far, gripes are:
+ no RSS reader!
+ stupid Orange customisation, meaning everything takes lots of clicks to get to
+ IMAP IDLE not working (is this the same for everyone?)
I do, however, absolutely love the wifi. It will save me a FORTUNE.

Hi everyone,
Just read the latest posts on this forum and noticed people getting upgrades even though its not available online as an upgrade yet..... so phoned orange and asked them, they said they'd upgrade me for £150 at first (previously got a P900 and was due an upgrade in feb but held on)(!) so i was understandably disappointed with this and they put me on hold.
When she came back to me, they could offer the phone at £34.99 on an 18month contract (my contract is a student tariff, 120mins 1250 texts £25 a month) so pretty chuffed with that!
Phone should arrive on tuesday, I've already heard far too much about the bugs etc, they'll sort most of it with firmware upgrades just be patient pple!
all excited its finally coming!!! |

is it better to get an upgrade deal by orange over the phone or in store? which is more likely to give me a better price/deal etc?
also - pls post some pictures those who have their orange p990i to show branding etc asap!
