Its just a myth. I though Nokia's were difficult to use but when I bought one, they are not difficult. Infact, they're easier than SE because of the brilliant active standby.

I have a N73, W900 and W800 and the SE's are much easier in use!! The menu's are more logical, more intuitive, you can always use shortcut keys, it looks better (animated), etc. And the camera app on the SE's is sooooooooo superior to the Nokia (again, ease of use, shortcut keys, speed, etc). And if you take a picture, the SE's show consistency, you know what you can expect. The N73 pictures one time come out great, one time come out average, one time come out really ugly, etc. Still I love my N73 (couldn't tell that huh hahaha). The Active Standby is really something that SE is missing in their phones. I got some really useful apps on there, the menu speed is at par with a W900i, the screen is amazing, etc. Great phone, I love it, but the camera part is a real disappointment.

just a couple of things...

people have said the k800i has better camera??? in the night time maybe but at all other times the N73 wins (i have an N73 and K800i!)...

Symbian 3rd Ed isnt slow lol.... i have jus over 1Gb's worth of apps and games and music an pics on ma mem card and it runs as fast as it did on day one... plus wit the accelerator patch from Nokia it runs as quick as the K800i does....

Nokia N93 is totally different phone so it cant be included on this thread...

Like wise for the N80 and N91.... Both of which are released before the N73 and werent very good phones...

I havent had a time when my N73 has frozen... my K800i though has frozen twice whilst using my A2DP headphones and once whilst trying to install a game...

The library of games and apps for the N73 has grown a hell of a lot... take a look at my-symbian.com for all the apps and games wise if u like NES and SNES games why not install the full screen full speed with sound vNes, vSnes and vBoy (gameboy emulator).... has about 3000 games if u count them all together so a few games there....

and the software is fully upto date and its orange changing the firmware thats slowing it down for them! not because of an issue!!! lol.

Today i went to a mall and played with a k800 for a while. The design is cool, ´s classic black sober look, but its good. The screen is bigger than the one on my w800, however, the icons got bigger so they look more pixelated. The ones on w800 look sharper, which was a great surprise.
At the same time k800 handles photos more quickly, the menu was noticebly slower than my w800. That was also a surprise. Even real tennis played slower on k800. I dunno the exact reason for this, since k800´s clock speed is over 200mhz and w800 is a bit more than 100mhz. Add that to the fact that my w800 had a 512mb card full in it and k800 was brand new and empty.
This same week i played with a N80 at this same mall and it was not slower than k800. The menu actually loaded faster in almost every way excluding handling big photos.
When i got home i thought: if k800 had better video and symbian, would i buy it? Sure i would.
However, thats not the picture. is trying for new customers now.´Hey, get a cybershot or walkman phone! Its sony quality in image and sound for you and yatta, yatta' .
The old users used to all in one advanced phones were kinda forgotten and i dont think thats smart. Myself, together with other people, used to be loyal customers. Now there is not a speficic model for us.
We may be a smaller market but we are the loyal market and we are also the ones who have interest in mobiles and pay more money for them if they are worth it. Its more important to have a big marketshare in terms of revenue than of models sold.
shouldnt forget that small but potencially very provitable market.

That is wright! When you have SE on your hands, you be awake and nokia is a bad dream and with SE you live a real life with good RF and ergonomics.

People... N73 is BETTER than K800i, period. If you compare the specs you will clearly see that, no wonder it is more expensive. However, some people may prefer k800 because of personal taste, but you gotta be aware that you are buying an inferior phone. Some people here and there may have bought a k800 instead of N73 but i´m sure that N73 is gonna sell more than k800 because of nokias success, market and etc.
Its like I said before, is not interested in the market represented by us anymore (mobile phones with the highest functions but non pda like P990), so theres not a specific model for us. We might be all using nokias in the future if things continue like this.

n73 easily ,

main disadvanatges of k800i:

worse battery life.
worse camera.
literelly appaling video , its crapper than d500.
poor audio qaulity.
only 1gb micro stick(in another 2 yrs 2 gb comesout tho).
quiet loudspeaker.
not much change from the k750i.
boring phone.

The n73 is thew best phone ive ever owned , i love it way more than any sony ericsson phne ive owned ;)

The mobile phonw shop I bought the Sony K800 from advised me not to get the Nokia N73 as there are many cases of N73 return to the shop due to hang and bugs... I was asking for their recommendation on whether N73 or K800 was better?

Finally decided and bought the Sony K800. Accordingly, the OS of the nokia N73 has slow response as well..

N73 is NOT slow. Its faster than older symbian phones. A symbian phone is usually not as fast as a regular phone because of heavier and more complex software, but thats the price u pay for a more powerful phone.
However, thats not N73´s case or N80. They have the latest symbian and its really faster.
I played with a K800 and with a N80 this week as i´ve mentioned before and K800´s menu is actually SLOWER than my w800. How can that be called fast??
